Ellen DeGeneres might no longer be the queen of nice anymore, but it looks like she’s still got what it takes to pull in the big numbers. Even though she’s been all but canceled because of her very unfunny and toxic work environment behind the scenes at the Ellen DeGeneres Show, the comedian is now celebrating her highest premiere ratings since 2016. Here’s what you need to know.

According to reports, the Ellen DeGeneres show posted an overnight Nielsen household rating of 1.9, which ranked No. 1 in a lucrative ad demo: adults aged 25 to 54, with a 0.9 rating, an increase from last year’s 0.8.

If that weren’t enough, Ellen also topped all talk shows in what’s arguably the most-coveted ad demo: Female viewers ages 18 to 34, earning a 0.6, and nailing ages 18 to 49 with a 0.8. The program tied with “The View” at 1.1 for women viewers ages 25 to 54.

During her premiere, Ellen addressed the toxic work environment and sexual harassment allegations that have marred her show in recent months. She said, “As you may have heard this summer, there were allegations of a toxic work environment at our show and then there was an investigation.

I learned that things happened here that never should’ve happened. I take that very seriously, and I want to say I’m so sorry to the people who were affected.”

Ellen also said that she understands that she’s in a position of privilege and power and that she also takes responsibility for what happens on her show.

“The truth is I am that person that you see on TV. I am also a lot of other things,” DeGeneres noted. “Sometimes I get sad, I get mad, I get anxious, I get frustrated, I get impatient, and I am working on all of that.”
