CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers is saying hello everyone and welcome to another set of throwback spoilers . This is a special gem for several reasons.

One being it follows Katherine Chancellor (Jeanne Cooper) through her facelift procedure, but the second and more impressive part of that is it was an actual facelift.

Yep. On March 28, 1984, we got to see Jeanne actually have a facelift performed on her, and her first reaction when she woke up.

It’s a piece of television history that’s since been copied, but only on reality television shows. And that only adds to this moment’s legacy.

We always hear how art imitates life and how artist draw on their lives and the world around them for their inspiration, but in 1984, Jeanne Cooper took it a step further and made history in doing so.

She reportedly approached ‘Young and the Restless’ producers and suggested that the facelift she was going to have be shown on the show as part of her character’s storyline.

They agreed, and a groundbreaking new medium started as cameras were there to record the surgery to play it on the episode as part of the character’s story, as well at her reaction when she woke up and first saw the results.

It was the first time something like this had been done, and it led to reality television stars choosing to do something similar over the years, but she’ll always be the first.

CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers Throwback For July 21: Groundbreaking

Groundbreaking is a term we hear a lot, but that’s because it often carries a lot of weight and history with it. Or it should. Daytime television is full of groundbreaking moments, though most go unrecognized.

It’s a shame, but CBS “The Young and the Restless” Spoilers think it’s also one of the good things to come out of this lockdown.

While we’ve been treated to some awesome old episodes, few we’ve seen had a history changing moment like this one, even if it took another twenty plus years to achieve it.

Let’s face it, treasures like this are awesome to stumble across, especially when it took a fans’ choice to get this one seen.

Kinda wonder what the powers that be were thinking waiting so long, but then they have over forty years of shows to go through.

We can’t have everything, but a network to watch all of these old episodes and other soap operas would be a nice start.

What are your thoughts on the episode? Is it something to be proud of, or did it make plastic surgery too common place?

Let us know below, and check back with ‘Young and the Restless’ for the latest updates, spoilers, and speculation around. Don’t forget to visit TVRocker for all of the latest exciting news on all of your favorite daytime television soaps.
