Although there haven’t been many details provided, Daniel Romalotti and Heather Steven’s (Vail Bloom) relationship ended badly. Heather and his daughter Lucy Romalotti (Lily Brooks O’Briant) were very hurt by his behavior and actions. Lucy was so very hurt by how he treated her.
He mentions that his work was falling apart, and he let that influence everything in his life. It impacted how he related with his family. He has bridges to rebuild and relationships to repair. The focus on his gaming platform has brought healing and helped him reprioritize.

Daniel’s goal has always been to get his platform running so that he can then be in a place to win back his family. Heather’s arrival shocks him but he is hopeful that they can begin to repair their relationship. He is shocked to find out that she has someone new in her life. She said that while she can work on forgiving Daniel, she can never forget.
Now she has someone new in her life and believes that it is time to resolve their relationship and move on permanently. Daniel is stunned and sad. This may bring even greater tension to his relationship with his mother Phyllis Summer (Michelle Stafford), because she was the one who inspired Heather’s realization that it is time to move on. Lucy also is tentative around her father. She feels that he has change but isn’t sure that his changes can be trusted.
