CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers indicate that Chelsea Newman (Melissa Claire Egan) knows that Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) is slipping from her fingers and it’s a feeling she doesn’t like at all. Here’s what you need to know.
Speaking to CBS Soaps in Depth in a new interview, actress Melissa Claire Egan, who plays Chelsea on the hit CBS soap, says that Adam’s childhood trauma that he has repressed for so long might be what is drawing him closer to his ex but also therapist, Sharon Newman (Sharon Case). And if there’s anything that we’ve learned about Adam and Sharon’s history together, it’s that they certainly can’t resist one another.

Melissa puts it this way, ““They were kind of in a great place. And then this secret was revealed. He’s not in a great place emotionally or mentally, and she’s just trying to be a supportive wife. They go back and forth. They have a roller coaster romance. They were in a great place, but this definitely throws him for a loop.”
After Sharon finds out that Adam has been hiding out at his childhood home in Kansas, she takes Victor Newman’s private jet and makes a beeline for him. Of course, this doesn’t sit very well with Chelsea.
“He goes to see Sharon for therapy and Chelsea’s like, ‘Uh uh. Anybody else. Not your ex-wife,’” Egan explained. “She’s very threatened by that.”
With that said, Chelsea can certainly expect a new struggle. “That kind of indicates the whole Chadam/Shadam triangle that has been going on for nine years almost,” Egan mused. “As long as I’ve been on the show. So it’s kind of great what you can really sink your teeth into on a soap if it gets that far.”
