CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers finds that alum Max Ehrich was recently spotted crying by photographers on Malibu Beach. The actor happened to be in the same spot where he proposed to his former fiancé Demi Lovato, who just happened to pull the plug on their engagement a few short weeks ago.
While there were some social media fans that offered Max support, others say that this looks nothing more than a PR stunt or better, one of the best performances of his life. Here’s what you need to know.

Max proposed to the 28-year-old singer after a whirlwind romance. But after one thing led to another, Demi realized that he wasn’t worth the hassle anymore. Max has been accused of sending ‘thirsty’ social media messages to Demi’s former best friend Selena Gomez along with pop starlets Ariana Grande and Miley Cyrus.
However, Demi defended her fiancé at the time, claiming that the screenshotted messages were all fake. “It’s really sad when people FAKE images to put women against each other,” she wrote. “If women have conflict that’s between them NOT YOU.”
Of course, it didn’t take very long for Max’s critics to respond to his photos. Quite a few people left comments such as, “This is as fake as it can get. Yet he was the one who was accusing Demi of using him as PR stunt,” along with, “Not Max Ehrich going to the beach where he proposed and sitting there sobbing at the ocean, sir who is this performance for??”
Another fan wrote, “I’m convinced that Max Ehrich thinks life is a movie after seeing him sulk around the beach.”
