British Royal Family News says that despite all of the drama, the chaos that was Megxit, and the “he said, she said” chatter that has ensued, Queen Elizabeth is still willing to welcome Prince Harry and Meghan Markle back into the royal family, should they decide to come back. Here’s what you need to know.
According to the new book, Finding Freedom: Harry, Meghan and the Making of a Modern Royal Family, Prince Harry had a very special one-on-one meeting with his beloved grandmother. Queen Elizabeth reportedly invited Harry to lunch at Windsor Castle.
British Royal Family News: There’s Still Hope For Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, According To Queen Elizabeth
Even though they, along with Prince Charles and Prince William, were hammering out negotiations for a Megxit deal that would satisfy all parties involved, Queen Elizabeth wanted to reassure Harry that he had her backing and support, regardless of what he and Meghan chose to do.
One excerpt from the book says, “As they tucked into a roast lunch, the Queen made it clear to Harry that she would always support him in whatever he decided to do. Though a 12-month trial period had already been promised to Harry earlier in the year, their conversation was also a reminder that should he and Meghan ever want to return to their roles, they were always welcome.”
The passage also quotes an inside source, who claims, “It’s been made very clear they can come back whenever they want, when they’re ready.”
The meeting apparently took place on March 1, which was right before Prince Harry joined his wife Meghan Markle and their son Archie Harrison in Vancouver. The Sussexes spent several weeks in Canada before moving to Meghan’s hometown of Los Angeles, where they have now been since the end of March. So far the royal couple have not made any comments about Finding Freedom.
