British Royal Family News says that while we are still a few good weeks away, it looks like the British Royal Family is already thinking about pulling the plug on their yearly holiday festivities.

In fact, there’s a new report that says there’s a very good chance that the royal family won’t participate in their traditional walk from Sandringham House to St. Mary Magdalene Church as they do every year because of the UK’s ongoing fight with the coronavirus and pandemic public-gathering rules. Here’s what you need to know.

Each and every year Queen Elizabeth and the more senior members of the royal family enjoy greeting well-wishers while on their way to church on Christmas morning. However, that might not happen this year.

Because there is a new “rule of six,” which limits almost all indoor and outdoor gatherings, means that the Queen and her family will have to stay indoors during this upcoming festive Christmas season.

“Any sort of church attendance on Christmas Day is highly unlikely under the current guidelines,” a source told the Daily Mail this week. “There is no desire to create crowds and over the years, the Royals’ walk to church has become more and more popular. It is now something of an event, so this year will need to be looked at very carefully. Perhaps it could be ticketed, as the church does stand on private land, but there could be no interaction. The Royals do not want to encourage crowds.”

If that weren’t enough, Queen Elizabeth’s custom of hosting about 30 of her closest family for lunch at her Norfolk Estate before watching her speech to the nation is also under threat. The royals also spend Christmas Eve opening presents together as a family.
