Bob Dylan is being sued for sexual assault of a minor some 56 years ago. The 80-year-old singer is vehemently denying the allegations.
Born Robert Zimmerman, Dylan is being accused of grooming a 12-year-old girl between April and May of 1965. According to the complaint the ‘Blowin’ In The Wind’ singer “befriended and established an emotional connection with the plaintiff.” This is said to have happened over a six week period when the star lived at his Chelsea Hotel apartment in New York City.

The lawsuit’s accuser, identified as only “J.C” accuses Dylan of sexual abuse “coupled with the provision of drugs, alcohol and, threats of physical violence, leaving her emotionally scarred and psychologically damaged to this day.”
The 2019’s New York Child Victims Act has extended the statute of limitations for a survivor of child sexual abuse in criminal and civil cases, allowing J.C. to act upon getting her supposed retribution. The lawsuit was filed on Friday, one day before the “look-back” window of the New York Child Victims Act expired.
The 68-year-old woman who now lives inConnecticut claims she’s the victim of “one or more criminal sex acts and is attempting to recover damages after suffering “severe psychological damage and emotional trauma caused by Dylan’s wrongful and criminal acts.”
J.C.’s lawyer, Daniel W. Isaacs claims the woman has suffered depression, humiliation, economic losses and anxiety as a result of the abuse. She has purportedly sought medical treatment over the past 56 years since the alleged abuse.
Isaacs also stated in court documents, “Dylan’s predatory, sexual and unlawful acts against Plaintiff amounted to a series of harmful and offensive contacts to Plaintiff’s person, all of which were done intentionally by him to her without her consent,”
The complaint further alleges that Dylan “exploited his status as a musician by grooming J.C. to gain her trust and to obtain control over her as part of his plan to sexually molest and abuse J.C.”
The member of the Traveling Wilburys is accused of giving the 12-year-old alcohol and drugs on a supposed “numerous occasions”. This led to the sexually abused which happened multiple times, according to the plaintiff.
A spokesperson for Dylan has spoken out on the claims saying, “The 56-year-old claim is untrue and will be vigorously defended.”
