This week’s “Monday Night Football” fan who ran onto the field and was knocked to the ground by Bobby Wagner has now reported the incident to the police. According to police, the man went to the Santa Clara Police Department on Tuesday after the Rams vs. 49ers game and reported the incident. A spokesperson withheld any additional information.

According to a representative for Direct Action Everywhere, the organization that claimed responsibility for the chaotic scene at Levi’s Stadium, the report is the result of a “blatant assault” by two Rams players.

As we previously mentioned, during the second quarter of the game, two protesters leaped the stadium railing while carrying pink smoke bombs in an effort to obstruct the play on the field.

Before she could enter the playing area, a female protester was taken down. However, the other protester managed to get away from security long enough to play a few snaps on the gridiron.

The man initially fooled stadium security for a while, but as he approached the Rams’ sideline, Wagner flattened him with a little assistance from teammate Takkarist McKinley. Security took control, and the spectators were ultimately arrested, given tickets, and released.

The individuals allegedly carried out the stunt to increase awareness for a trial involving the alleged theft of pigs from a factory farm, according to Direct Action Everywhere. The organization claimed that the incident left the man with burns.

Wagner claimed that he jumped in to assist security out of concern for safety after the game. The star linebacker said, “You don’t know what that fan got or what they’re doing.” No charges or arrests have been made against Wagner.

What do you think? Are you a fan of Bobby Wagner and will this charge stick around or was he in the right? Let us know in the comments below.
