According to Page Six, Tori Spelling announced that she wanted to connect with fans who are also in quarantine right now. Many states such as California have mandated strict quarantine rules, forcing millions of people to either practice social distancing or stay home to help stop the spread of the coronavirus.

While there were plenty of fans who were excited about the opportunity to talk to Tori online, they were surprised to find out that it came with a fee. After logging on to Zoom, fans were shocked to see that Tori was charging them $95 per session. Some of the criticism got so bad that Tori’s husband Dean McDermott had to step in and defend his wife.
“I find myself having to come to my wife’s defense yet again. I’m really disappointed because she’s catching flack and being dragged for doing a live meet-and-greet,” he said. “People are upset that given the current situation we’re in and the lockdown and the coronavirus that she’s charging people money to do a meet-and-greet.”
Dean then went on to say that there was nothing wrong with his wife trying to use what opportunity she could to provide for her family during these uncertain times.
“What is wrong with that?” he continued. “What is wrong with providing for your family at this time? All the studios, everything is shut down. She has no way to work like everybody else. She has no job to go to, so why can she not work from home and do a live meet-and-greet with fans and give them some light and love and have some fun?” So far Tori herself has not made any comments about the controversy.
