The week of Monday, December 22 to Friday, December 26 looks like it’s going to be a fun, hard hitting one. We’ve got our popcorn and comfort food ready for this.
Leslie Thomas (Trisha Mann-Grant)’s big mouth is going bring a whole lot of stress in a time of celebration. Given what’s on the horizon, Vernon Dupree (Clifton Davis) and Sharon Winger (Bonita Brisker) don’t need her stress.
Add in it’s about the secret they’re keeping from Anita Dupree (Tamara Tunie), and things will look rough.
Speaking of keeping secrets, not that Anita knows she has cancer, she’ll reach out to Vernon.
She’ll share the news no one ever wants to hear, and it’ll shock him but bring them closer together.
We expect this will be after his and Sharon’s secret of him taking singing lessons comes out.
The timing will be painful and tragic, but they’ll have their friends and family to support them.

‘Beyond the Gates’ Spoilers have been waiting for the truth about Vernon and Sharon’s rendezvous.
It’ll come out this week when Vernon sings on Christmas eve, but up until then Leslie will be an issue.
She’s been slowly spreading the news and being a pain, but we think they’ll make it to the planned date.
Worst case, Leslie will tell Anita about Vernon stepping out, and that will force his hand. He and Sharon will admit what they’ve been doing, and he’ll sing for his love.

For the last few months, Anita’s been going to the doctor for regular check ups. It’s a clear hint that something more is coming, and the writers didn’t lie.
Now that she knows she has cancer, she knows she can’t keep it from Vernon anymore. She’s wanted to tell him before, but couldn’t bring herself to do it.
With her Articulatte sisters supporting her, we expect she’ll find the strength to tell him she’s sick.
It could come after his surprise singing, which will also put the rumor of him and Sharon hooking up.
This will be a powerful and emotional scene, and we expect both to bring it big time.
