‘Beyond the Gates’ (BTG) spoilers reveal that Y&R alum Jordi Vilasuso recently spoke with TV Insider and dished on his new BTG character.
‘Beyond the Gates’ Spoilers: Vilasuso Recognizes His Good Fortune
Vilasuso is set to make his debut on Tuesday, January 13th. The actor began his career in daytime, playing mobster Tony Santos on Guiding Light. He won a Daytime Emmy for that role.

After that, he set his sights on Pine Valley to play Griffin Castillo on All My Children. Then, he played Dario Hernandez on Days of Our Lives.
Vilasuso’s most recent role was Rey Rosales on The Young and the Restless. He told TV Insider about the new character,
“He’s a lab tech, and he’s got a very good heart.”
The actor continued,
“He’s been raised by a single parent for some time, and now the roles have changed because he has to take care of his mother. And he goes to great lengths. I’ll just leave it at that.”
Vilasuso also recognizes his stroke of good fortune for being asked to play a role in a hot new daytime drama. He acknowledged his luck,
“When I started 25 years ago, there were 10 soap operas. It shows you the viability. The people want these stories. There’s still an audience for them, and it keeps us actors employed.”
In 2025, Vilasuso moved to Nashville with his wife, Kaitlin, and their children, Riley, Everly, and Lucy. Interestingly, Beyond the Gates films in Atlanta, Georgia, which is only a few hours from his home.

‘Beyond the Gates’ Spoilers: Vilasuso Was Welcomed with Open Arms
Since Vilasuso is a dedicated family man, he’s thrilled to work on Beyond the Gates while staying close to his family. Vilasuso is very excited to be part of the groundbreaking drama.
He also said that the BTG welcomed him with open arms. Vilasuso explained,
“It’s such a great group. And it’s so interesting to be on a show that’s just starting.”
The actor continued,
“Everybody’s here helping something grow and wanting it to do really well. There’s a lot of loveliness in this place. Sometimes you don’t feel that family dynamic, and on this show in particular,”
He added,
“I feel like Everybody is just so friendly and welcoming. That’s been really encouraging and just a positive work environment.”
Apparently, Grayson will be Ashley Morgan’s (Jen Jacob) new love interest. Vilasuso praised the actress,
“When I did the chemistry read, I was like, wow, this would be so great if I got to work with her.”

He continued,
“And it worked out. She’s just such a pro, works very hard, and I’ll be honest, that hasn’t always been the case with a co-star, and that makes the dynamic a lot of fun.”
Vilasuso’s character, Grayson, plays a lab tech, which is familiar territory for him. He played a doctor on All My Children. Grayson will be in close proximity to the good nurse, who also works at the hospital.
The actor also had something to say about the fans who have supported him throughout each role,
“I have fans who become like friends. I feel so blessed to have the fans who still watch me.”
He continued, “Fans are always asking me,
‘When are we going to see you on TV again?’ I’m so grateful that I have a really great answer for them now, and a really great show.”
Vilasuso concluded, So, I can’t wait, and I’m hoping to keep this audience growing and alive, and that this is just the beginning of bringing soaps back to TV and broadcast television.”
