We’ve keep going back and forth on Martin Richardson (Brandon Claybon). We want to like him, but as soon as we do, he does a 180 degree turn.

In this case, he’s going to dodge Smitty Smith (Mike Manning)’s questions about what Bill Hamilton (Timon Kyle Durrett) insinuated.
He’ll keep Smitty at arm’s length, and then act hurt when Smitty digs deeper. This should be interesting.
It looks like Hayley Lawson (Marquita Goings) is pregnant, and her news will rock Naomi Hawthorne (Arielle Prepetit).
Just when Bill was getting a little closer to his daughter, things could be torn apart.
This is definitely not a smooth road Bill and Hayley chose, and it’s going to get bumpier.

‘Beyond the Gates’ Spoilers have our popcorn ready for the next round between Bill and Hayley and the Duprees.
Billy and Hayley are pregnant, and it’s a happy moment for them. But that’s where it’ll end as Naomi will find out and she won’t be too happy about it.
There’s going to be some monster-in-law comments and we’re sure Bill will try to keep things calm.
But Naomi won’t be interested and Hayley won’t let her ruin this moment for her.
‘Beyond the Gates’ Spoilers for Monday, May 26: Martin remains slippery
The more things change, the more they stay the same.
This applies to Martin perfectly as he simply cannot let go of his politician way of handling secrets.
He doesn’t trust his husband, and that may be because of Smitty being a reporter. Especially now that he’s getting back into investigative reporting.
Martin will have a chance to come clean and show he trusts Smitty, but instead he’ll dodge his questions.
He doesn’t want whatever he did that one night to come out, but he’s only going to increase Smitty’s desire to find out.
Smitty wouldn’t betray him, but he’d be able to help Martin deal with his trauma.
Instead, we expect the secret will come out and possibly destroy Martin’s political career and life.
There’s a good chance the Dupree family will be able to protect him to a point, but Martin seems destined to self destruct.
