B&B’s Ridge Needs to Grow a Backbone — Is He Destroying Forrester Creations?

For a man who is supposed to be leading one of the biggest fashion houses in Los Angeles, Ridge Forrester spends an awful lot of time letting everyone else make decisions for him.

Monday’s episode of The Bold and the Beautiful exposed that problem when Ridge allowed Will Spencer to take the fall for the situation with RJ — despite clearly knowing there was far more to the story.

The moment conflict starts inside Forrester Creations, Ridge completely loses his ability to stand firm. He hesitates, looks uncomfortable, listens to whoever is pushing the hardest, and then folds.

It is becoming clearer than ever that this is starting to become a serious problem for the company.

Ridge Knew Will Wasn’t the Only Problem

What made Monday’s firing so frustrating was that Ridge clearly understood RJ helped create this situation.

RJ spent weeks provoking Will over Electra. Even Carter admitted afterward that RJ had been antagonizing him. Yet once the fight turned physical, the entire conversation immediately became about protecting RJ while Will was treated like the sole problem.

And Ridge just went along with it.

Steffy immediately declared that Will had created an “unsafe work environment.” Brooke stood firmly behind RJ because he is her son. Ridge looked uncomfortable through the entire confrontation, but instead of slowing things down or acknowledging both sides, he simply backed the firing when RJ pressured him too much.

Ridge did not look convinced Will deserved to lose his job. Even afterward, Ridge admitted that Will was “a good kid” and someone Forrester had been lucky to have working there.

So if he truly believed that, why fire him so quickly?

That is the problem with Ridge lately. He keeps making major decisions based on pressure in the moment instead of thinking long-term about what is actually best for the company.

Ridge Keeps Wavering Instead of Leading

The Will situation was not an isolated example either.

When Brooke pushed for the co-CEO position, Ridge immediately looked skeptical because he already believed Steffy was doing a good job running the company. But instead of trusting his own instincts, he immediately went to ask Steffy to step down.

The second Steffy pushed back, Ridge folded.

The same thing happened with Hope for the Future.

Instead of making a firm executive decision, he drifted back and forth while Brooke encouraged him to reconsider and Steffy resisted the idea altogether.

At one point, Ridge softly suggested they should at least give Hope a timeline, but even then he still would not fully commit to anything.

That hesitation eventually pushed Hope right out the door.

And now Logan is benefiting from it.

What makes this even more dangerous for Forrester is that Logan appears far more focused right now.

While Forrester executives are consumed by personal drama Logan is aggressively building itself into a serious rival fashion house.

Hope signed there because she got tired of waiting around for answers and feeling unwanted at Forrester.

She recruited Deke — someone Forrester already pushed out — and now Logan is giving him another chance to prove himself. Meanwhile, Will, who had actually been doing a strong job at Forrester, was fired over a personal conflict that spiraled far beyond what it should have.

RJ’s comments about Will being a “lowlife Spencer” and no one defending him that office are not going to be forgotten. It is not hard to imagine once Bill finds out what happened he remind his son that he will be more appreciated working alongside his actual family.

That is what makes Ridge’s decision potentially shortsighted.

Forrester keeps acting like people are replaceable and that there are no consequences every time someone walks out the door.

But eventually, those losses start adding up.

Especially when Bill Spencer is standing there ready to scoop up every frustrated employee Forrester pushes away.

Ridge Needs to Start Acting Like the Boss

At some point, Ridge needs to stop trying to keep everyone happy and start acting like the co-CEO of Forrester Creations.

Right now, Ridge spends too much time hesitating, looking for approval and backing down the second conflict starts instead of leading the company with confidence.

If Ridge does not start showing a backbone soon Forrester might following instead of leading in the fashion world.
