BBC Ameria Doctor Who spoilers indicate the season’s winding down. And, unfortunately, The Doctor (Jodie Whittaker) is not heeding others. In an episode that offers a follow-up to Captain Jack Harkness’ (John Barrowman) warning, we see the Doctor revert once more to her 10th Doctor (David Tennant) instincts. Here’s what you need to know.

    Doctor Who spoilers: The background

This episode is centered in some reality, as several real historic figures appear. We see Mary Shelley (Lili Miller), Lord Byron (Jacob Collins-Levy), and others all meeting at a place that was to serve as huge inspiration for them. The Doctor brought her team there to witness genius in motion, but warned them against telling the group what they know about the works this gathering inspired. It was a good setup. We saw some of the creepier elements of Who on full display, as well as some great interactions between the historic figures. Unfortunately, we also saw might have been a huge mistake from a Doctor who’s more like her former self than ever.

    Doctor Who spoilers: Unheeded warning

Earlier in the season Captain Jack returned to action, and we loved it. He was mostly his old self. It was also great to see old and new companions meet up. But Jack didn’t show up just to flirt as normal, or take part in an adventure. He’d come with a dire warning. He made it very clear to the companions that The Doctor was not to give the lone Cyberman what he wants. As Jack is a seasoned time traveler himself, and has always been of help to The Doctor, you’d think she’d take his word seriously. Apparently not.

In a move that might be disastrous, Doctor Who spoilers indicate she ignored this warning. As the action got serious and she was faced with a decision to either do as the lone Cyberman wanted or face his threats, she ultimately chose to disregard Jack’s warning and hand over the Cyberium. We have a feeling this is going to be a mistake on par with 10 choosing to overthrow the woman expected to lead Britain to a Golden Age (Harriet Jones, played by Penelope Wilton) over a moral issue. This led to an old enemy, The Master (John Simm), almost taking over the world. So, what’s next?

    Doctor Who spoilers: Looking forward

There are only two more episodes in this season. Doctor Who spoilers indicate they will both feature the Cyberman in a two-part story. They’ll be battling to save the last of humanity while also seeing Ruth Clayton (Jo Martin) again. Previous episodes indicated she’s a version of The Doctor, and we’ll see some truth about her in the final episode. We’ll also explore the Timeless Child and Gaillfrey’s situation as well. We expect that to lead in to next season. As for the rest, if the current trend continues, we might see 12 leave next season. In the modern era, the actors who play The Doctor tend to bow out with their third season. Except, of course, for our favorite—Christopher Eccleston. Will Whittaker follow suit? We’ll have to wait and see. For any other soap opera and entertainment news, please visit Daily Soap Dish. For more royal and celeb baby news, come back to Celeb Baby Laundry.
