Sometimes it’s just best to stick with the original, right? There’s a new report that suggests former President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle Obama might be feeling a little a little irritated over seeing Prince Harry and Meghan Markle trying to follow their footsteps in becoming an A-list documentary-producing multi-media couple. At least, that’s what one royal expert thinks. Here’s what you need to know.
According to royal author and expert Angela Levin, she thinks there’s a reason why the Obamas did not invite Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to Barack Obama’s 60th birthday bash at Martha Vineyard’s last week. Even though many A-listers such as George Clooney and Amal Clooney, Tom Hanks, and Oprah Winfrey were at the soiree, the Sussexes were apparently left off the guest list.
Are Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Trying To Be ‘Obama Copycats?’
Levin says one of the reasons for that might be because the Obamas can “see through” Prince Harry and Meghan Markle and simply put, don’t like what they see.
When Meghan launched her 40×40 initiative on her 40th birthday, a global project to encourage people around the world to commit to giving 40 minutes of their time to support women going back to work, some say that it was too similar to Barack’s 60×60 birthday appeal, where supporters were invited to donate 60 dollars, or even six dollars, to a worthy cause.
Levin put it this way: “It must be irritating for the Obamas to see Harry and Meghan copying much of what they do. The other problem is that the Obamas are also close to Prince William and his family. Who can forget that night in 2016 when they went to dinner with William and Catherine at their home and met Prince George, then three, who was in his dressing gown? I’m sure that if they say we can only deal with one brother and his wife — you cannot have both because they are so far apart now — they will go towards William. The Obamas clearly always regarded Harry highly, but I am sure they can see through Meghan.”
So far the Obamas have not made any comments about the matter.
