A TikTok video has gone viral after it showed flight passengers being prevented from leaving the plane during the arrival of a flight to Denmark from South Africa.
TikTok Video Shows Passengers Trapped On A Flight Due To New Covid Variant
South Africa has recently become a source of concern, given that the new Covid 19 variant entitled ‘Omicron’ has allegedly been located there.
Thus, the last thing that people wanted to think about was the possibility of more people getting Covid in light of this flight that was arriving from South Africa.
As such, there has been concerns over whether more restrictions needed to be put in place in order to get a handle on this situation.
In the video here, we can see that the pilot is informing the passengers that he is not allowed to enter the airspace and leave due to the current restrictions.
Thereafter, the passengers had reportedly stayed on the flight for three hours before they were allowed to leave. But that did not stop the passengers from feeling anxious. Once they had gotten off the plane, the passengers had to wait in the terminal in order to carry out Covid tests.
Naturally, that started to prey on the minds of the passengers as a negative test would have prevented them from entering or ending up in quarantine. In another video, a passenger described just how long they had all waited for the outcome.
The passenger is heard saying the following: “The testing should have been done by now for everybody, but that is definitely not the case. There is still quite a long queue.
“People who have been tested get their results by phone, and they don’t know what’s going to happen afterwards.”
According to reports, the passengers had ended up waiting for 10 hours before they were allowed to leave the airport following the conclusion of the testing. It is claimed that a total of 30 people had ended up being tested positive for Covid.
This news will only go on to increase the restrictions that the country will impose in light of the new cases that are going to emerge, as shown by this story.
