America’s Got Talent Host Howie Mandel was rushed to an L.A. hospital on Wednesday morning after fainting at a Starbucks.
An ambulance was called for the 65 year old Canadian comic after he fainted and fell. He was out having a coffee break with his wife, Terry and some friends at the time.
Howie reportedly faced a barrage of tests once he arrived at a nearby hospital, after paramedics did their best to treat him at the scene. Mandel was seen sitting up, speaking with Los Angeles first responders before he was whisked away into the awaiting ambulance.
America’s Got Talent Host, Howie Mandel Faints at Starbucks, Rushed to Hospital
It was suspected low blood sugar was the cause of Howie’s fainting spell, but no confirmation has come from the Mandel camp.
This is the second hospital trip for the actor/host this week, with Mandel posting photos and tik toks from his hospital bed as he recovered from a colonoscopy and endoscopy
“Colonoscopy,” he captioned the video on his Instagram. “Recovery audition.”
He also commented that a patient in the bed beside him recognized his voice and joked that they tried to audition for AGT as they, too, were waking from their sedative.
Mandel showed off his ‘Jed Clampett’ onesie that he said he was allowed to wear with the flap down for the procedure and, while admitting he was still buzzed from the anesthesia, joked with the nurse about being afraid that the doctor had used the same piece of equipment for the endoscopy and colonoscopy, hoping they had gone via the mouth first.
Mandel often uses humor as a way to cope with often crippling anxiety and obsessive compulsive disorder.
The nurse didn’t seem to mind his stand up routine, laughing good-naturedly, but refusing to be seen on camera.
Here’s hoping Howie is back to his funny self after this morning’s scare…watch this space for further updates.
