The American Idol and America’s Got Talent judge we all love to hate, Simon Cowell has finally proposed to long-time love and baby-mama, Lauren Silverman.
The couple have known each other since 2004 and welcomed son, Eric in 2014. Next, they will be taking on married life after Simon, 62, surprised Lauren, 44 with a diamond sparkler on Christmas Eve.
It all went down in Barbados where the couple met almost two decades ago. Lauren was married at the time to real estate mogul, Andrew Silverman. The pair have a son, Adam, but divorced after it was revealed Lauren was pregnant with Simon’s child. Simon and Andrew had been friends. It is safe to say they aren’t anymore!

Simon was also briefly engaged to make-up artist, Mezhgan Hussainy in 2010 to 2011, but later claimed it was “a big mistake” as he truly had eyes for Lauren.
During this 2021 blended family Christmas vacation, Simon and Lauren went for a walk on the beach. This is when the British entertainment producer and personality surprised his socialite girlfriend with a proposal.
Adam, 16 and Eric, 7 were both present which makes a big change from when Lauren and Andrew divorced and Simon was forbidden from being around Adam or face a $50,000 penalty. This divorce stipulation expired in January 2015.
“They are both super happy,” a source reported after news of the engagement broke. “They’ve been together a long time now and adore each other so it’s not a huge surprise to their close friends.”
Simon has publicly gushed about Lauren several times, especially in 2018 when he was presented with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. At that time he called Lauren his “rock for the past few years” and thanked her for putting up with him.
In 2020 Simon suffered a broken back after being involved in an accident on his electric bike. He thanked Lauren during his long recovery, saying, he “couldn’t have gotten through” the trauma without her and their son.
