Amber Smith Forgives Social Media Trolls Blaming Her For Her Son River’s Death
River had tragically died at just 3-years-old after having been involved in a drowning accident. While losing a child is one of the most difficult things to contend with, not everybody was very sympathetic towards Amber.
One troll, in particular, came out to attack the actress on the basis that she could have done more. Not only that, but the troll had also bizarrely criticised her for being happy about having had another child in the aftermath of River.
But rather than engaging in a back and forth with her critics, Amber quoted some of the Bible to show the importance of forgiveness. In her comments, she wrote: “The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole person.
“I can’t fault these people. We live in a fallen world. It’s taken me 3 years to not let these comments hurt me, but I forgive them.” And looking back, it was probably wise that Amber did this in light of the hostility that was emerging.
One social media user decided to attack Amber simply because she left some warm words of support towards a parent, who had allegedly lost their child. And given that Amber had been through a similar thing, that should have been welcomed.
And yet, that was not the case when it came to the troll. In some prior comment, the user remarked: “This makes me soooooo mad! Why would you be such irresponsible parents…You KILLED your win kid. Truly disgusting.”
In hindsight, it is clear that all parents would feel they could have done more to prevent such a tragedy. But now that this has happened, the only logical thing to do is learn from it and not repeat the same mistake. So there you have it folks. What did you think about this?
