The actor – who looked like he hasn’t slept in over a week, started off by saying, “She was my friend. There are incidental accidents on film sets from time to time, but nothing like this. This is a one in a trillion episode, a one in a trillion event.”

The actor then went on to say that he would like to talk further about eliminating guns from Hollywood products. “I do know and ongoing effort to limit the use of firearms on a set is something I’m extremely interested in.”

Meanwhile, reports say that Alec Baldwin is not out of the woods just yet – and we are not just talking the Vermont woods. Law enforcement officials say they suspect a real bullet was loaded in the antique revolver used by the actor that killed the film’s cinematographer and wounded its director. The same shot mortally wounded cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, who later died at a hospital.
“I think there was some complacency on this set and I think there are some safety issues that need to be addressed by the industry and possibly by the state of New Mexico,” Santa Fe County Sheriff Adan Mendoza said.
In addition, about 500 rounds of ammunition were also seized that included a mix of blanks, dummy rounds and live rounds.
