When the fatal shooting occurred on the movie set of ‘Rust’, not only was the cast and crew horrified, but fans of Alec Baldwin were as well. This completely rocked his world and with all of the rumors about it, he has been pretty quiet since. He wanted to set the record straight on some of the rumors and felt like this was the right time to speak out on what happened and how everyone was feeling.

He sat down with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos to do an interview and talk about the events. This interview, which has been the first time he has spoken about the events will air on December 2 at 8 p.m. EST on ABC. It will also stream on Hulu on Decemeber 3.

    The October Shooting

On the set of ‘Rust’, Baldwin was to use a prop gun in one of his scenes. The prop gun ended up being loaded with real bullets and he ended up shooting two of the crew members, director, Joel Souza and cinematographer, Halyna Hutchins. Hutchins died on the set and Souza was injured. This event shocked the world and it brought us back to thinking about ‘The Crow’ when Brandon Lee was killed by a loaded gun on the set as well.

EXCLUSIVE: Alec Baldwin. The first interview since the fatal accident on the set of the movie 'Rust.'

Alec Baldwin Speaks To ABC After ‘Rust’ Shooting

At the time of the incident, Baldwin’s statement was simply, “My heart is broken for her husband, their son, and all who knew and loved Halyna.” He was in shock about this and the paparazzi were all over him about it. He has been tweeting that more needs to be done on sets that use real weapons so that this will never happen again.

About the interview, George told fans, “I’ve done thousands of interviews in the last 20 years at ABC. This was the most intense I’ve ever experienced. As you can imagine, he’s devasted, but he’s also very candid. He’s very forthcoming. He answered every question. I was surprised in many places over the course of that hour and 20 minutes we sat down.” George also mentioned that the interview is “so raw.”

This incident has brought a lot of tears to the world of Hollywood and it seems that Baldwin is not the only star pushing for weapons to be better-taken care of, especially on set. There is new evidence coming out about the gun that was given to him on the set too.

A search warrant was done on the company that provided the weapons on the set of ‘Rust’. Live ammunition is brought on the set to help to train the actors and it looks like it was reloaded in the gun that Baldwin used. There are more details coming out daily and we will keep an eye on them.
