‘Rust’ Script Supervisor Mamie Mitchell Says Alec Baldwin Played ‘Russian Roulette When He Fired Gun’ That Killed Halyna Hutchins In New Lawsuit: “He Intentionally Cocked and Fired a Loaded Gun”

The script supervisor on the set of ‘Rust’ Mamie Mitchell is the latest person to file a lawsuit against Alec Baldwin.

Attorney Claims Alec Baldwin Played ‘Russian Roulette When He Fired A Gun Without Checking It’

That is according to Attorney Gloria Allred. Alec’s gun prop incident ended up killing cinematographer Halyna Hutchings and injuring director Joel Souza.

Although Alec was under the impression that the gun was not loaded, it looks as though many people have a lot to say over the actor’s conduct prior to anything happening.

According to the lawsuit, Mamie states that Alec “intentionally, without just cause or excuse, cocked and fired a loaded gun. [The scene, however,] did not call for the cocking and firing of a firearm.”

If this is taken to be true, then it shows that Alec acted in a way that contravened safety protocols on set. After all, he did handle the gun in a way that was not authorised.

This is made even more worrying in light of the fact that there were a couple of mishaps with guns prior to the actual death on the set.

In an official statement, Gloria said: “Days before the shooting…a camera operator had reported two gun discharges during a rehearsal in a cabin.

“‘This is super unsafe,’ the camera operator wrote in a text message to the production manager.” Alec should not have simply chosen to take the word of what somebody else might have said in determining whether or not the weapon was actually safe to handle.

As such, he should have done his own due diligence in order to rule out anything dangerous happening. Given that he had allegedly failed to do so, Alec was taking a risk that something bad could happen.

Gloria added: “Mr Baldwin chose to play Russian roulette when he fired a gun without checking it and without having the armourer do so in his presence.

“His behaviour and that of the producers on Rust was reckless.” Time will tell how the authorities view all this, but given what we have seen so far, these allegations certainly look very worrying for Alec.

And if the authorities view them in the same way, then he could face some serious repercussions. If you liked reading this article, then check out our other features on the Daily Soap Dish.
