ABC ‘The Bachelorette’ spoilers finds that the news is out in Bachelor Nation and Clare Crawley, “wasn’t given any heads up” about Matt James becoming the new Bachelor. He was supposed to be part of the cast of her season, but now, it looks like he will be on his own show. He was originally supposed to be one of her hopefuls, but now…things have changed.

There is a lot that Clare doesn’t know apparently and Chris Harrison is still making more decisions about the men that will be on her season. Because of the Coronavirus pandemic, Clare’s season was put on hold and Harrison did make it a point to tell fans that he wasn’t sure when it would pick up again and who would be on the show due to the changes that COVID-19 brought into our lives. He wasn’t sure that all of the men that were chosen would still want to do the show after all of this.

ABC ‘The Bachelorette’ Spoilers: Clare Crawley Wasn’t Aware Of Matt James Being Named The New Bachelor
An ABC exec, Rob Mills, told fans, “I think where this is really great for Clare is that every guy who will be on her season will know there is no chance of becoming the Bachelor, so they should really be on there only for Clare.” The ABC president, Karey Burke said, “When filming couldn’t move forward as planned, we were given the benefit of time to get to know Matt and all agreed he would make a perfect Bachelor. We know we have a responsibility to make sure the love stories we’re seeing onscreen are representative of the world we live in, and we are proudly in service to our audience. This is just the beginning, and we will continue to take action with regard to diversity issues on this franchise. We feel so privileged to have Matt as our first black Bachelor and we cannot wait to embark on this journey with him.”
The announcement of the new Bachelor was made earlier in the week and many of the former cast members are excited that there will be a little more diversity on the show. This is only the first step for the Bachelor Nation to try and add more diversity. After realizing that there have been 40 seasons with very little diversity, the former cast members took to signing petitions about adding more people of color to the show.
