British Royal Family News says that there was actually a time in which Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle liked each other, or at least enough for the two of them to see one another as “cool professionals.” Unfortunately, after one thing led to another, along with an ongoing feud between their husbands, Prince William and Prince Harry, the two duchesses are no longer on speaking terms. According to royal author and expert Robert Lacey, he says that if circumstances were different, Kate and Meghan would have a chance to actually get along with one another. But because of all the drama, frustration, and stress that goes on behind closed doors at Buckingham Palace, the two Duchesses never really had an opportunity to “click,” let alone get to know each other.

In an interview with the Daily Mail, Lacey puts it this way, “Meghan and Kate actually got on rather well from the start. They might not be best-buddy material, but they found themselves, sister-outsiders in their extraordinary royal situation, and both of them cool professionals, treating each other with mutual respect. Each was far too canny to make an enemy of a prospective sister-in-law – it only made sense to be friends.”
He added, “The fundamental conflict was between the two males who had known each other all their lives and had never hesitated to tell each other exactly what they thought and felt.”
Now, whether or not the Duchess of Cambridge and the Duchess of Sussex will ever be able to bury the hatchet remains to be seen, but right now, it seems unlikely so. Kate is busy with her royal engagements and public appearances in the UK while Harry and Meghan have settled in with their new lives in California, with no intention to go back to London anytime soon.
