British Royal Family News suggests that Meghan Markle might not realize just how damaged Prince Harry and Prince William’s relationship is.
Even though the two brothers were as tight as can be, things dramatically got worse between them when William suggested to Harry that he might have been accelerating too fast in his relationship with the Hollywood star when they began dating in 2016. Here’s what you need to know.
According to author Robert Lacey of the new book, Battle of Brothers: The Inside Story of a Family in Tumult, he says that when William cautioned Harry against moving too fast in his relationship with Meghan, Harry was more than just upset, he was downright offended.
Unfortunately, the two brothers have never been able to patch things up between them since then. To make things worse, Harry and Meghan are now living on the opposite side of the world in California while Prince William and the rest of the royal family are still in the UK.

Lacey’s book reads, “The fundamental conflict was between the two males who had known each other all their lives and had never hesitated to tell each other exactly what they thought and felt. William worried that his brother was moving too fast in his courtship — and he did not shrink from saying as much when Harry started talking about getting hitched to Meghan quite soon.”
Lacey further revealed that William and Harry’s confrontation happened sometime in late 2016 or early 2017. Instead of trying to somehow fix the issue, it’s been suggested that Meghan Markle did nothing more than exacerbate their problems with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s decision to ‘Megxit’ from the royal family.
But then again, sources close to Harry say that he had every reason to question William’s concern for Meghan, especially given his own checkered history and relationship with his wife, Kate Middleton.
“William couched his question in terms of apparent concern for Meghan,” Lacey wrote. “’Waity William,’ of course, took so long to commit to Kate [Middleton] for the sake of the monarchy. He had been auditioning her for a job all those years. So Harry could not help but wonder whether Will was really concerned about his personal happiness — or whether he was, once again and as per usual, thinking about the makeup and fortunes of ‘the Firm’ whose boss he would become one day? The response from Harry was a brusque and offended pushback.”
