Maurice Bernard’s State of Mind started on Instagram. It’s a casual Sunday chat where the actor, known for playing Sonny Corinthos on ‘General Hospital’ shared his real-life struggle with Bipolar Disorder.

Recently, he decided to take these chats to YouTube, where he continues to upload them on a regular basis. We already discussed one where he called for compassion for Kanye West. Let’s take a look at what else he’s been up to on the platform, and what his latest message said.

Maurice Bernard’s State of Mind: A movement

So, we mentioned the actor’s real-life struggle. That’s what’s inspired him to become an advocate for Mental Health. Ever since the Pandemic Lockdowns started, he’s been especially active on social media, sharing resources and other information as well as doing interviews.

At the same time, he’s been promoting his recent autobiography, which also chronicles his struggle as well as his experiences in the entertainment industry and more.

He hasn’t eased up since GH went back into production, either. Maurice Bernard’s State of Mind continues. He recently featured his wife and son in videos so they can give their personal perspectives. It’s a candid collection of content that features the imperfections of doing things spontaneously and speaking from the heart. We’re looking forward to the future episodes.

Maurice Bernard’s State of Mind: Random inspiration and personal connections

If there’s one thing he’s been candid about, it’s how lockdown has harmed emotional/mental well-being. He mentioned having some struggles of his own, and talked a bit about his recent storyline with Max Gail (Mike Corbin) and why it’s particularly touching for him.

But the main focus of the video was about encouraging people to get help. He called the video “Choose Life” and marked Suicide Prevention Month. He talked about how some random sports news led him to choose this particular topic, and you can see how passionate he is about helping.

Citing a long list of people from different backgrounds and levels of fame, he talked about how if there was one good thing about some of these tragedies, it’s the light it’s shone on mental health. Watch the video to see more about that and the recent conversation he had with a friend about the topic.

Maurice Bernard’s State of Mind: Plea

After sharing these stories, he used Maurice Bernard’s State of Mind to send a message. He shared the inspirational words his wife gave him during a struggle, then encouraged people to take any talk about suicide from people seriously.

He also pleaded for viewers to reach out if they start having similar thoughts. It’s a message that’s more important than ever, and we hope that everyone shares a little more kindness through all the crazy that has been 2020.
