TLC ‘Doubling Down with the Derricos’ spoilers asked that what do you do when you’re the Father of 11, soon to be 14 children, your wife is in the hospital pregnant with triplets on bedrest, and you’re managing a household of 11 and a business all by yourself? You call Grandma, that’s what you do!
And that’s exactly what Deon Derrico did on the last episode of Doubling Down with the Derricos. I mean, you can’t exactly blame the guy, he’s got 11 kids to entertain and he’s a real-estate investor so he has to be actively involved in his investments so the smart thing to do when you’re overwhelmed is to call the woman that raised you and get her on the next plane out to your door.

Now some would argue that it was an underhanded thing to do, flying her out there for her birthday so she could babysit the kids. But Gigi, as she’s referred to, seemed overjoyed to see her family.
From the expression on her face you could tell that she wasn’t thinking about the sheer amount of effort that this was going to take or measuring the hours she would have to spend with the kids or blaming her son for not having it together or not being able to find a babysitter for that many kids.
She seemed to genuinely want to be there for her 70th birthday and seeing her grandchildren looked to be the icing on the cake. The kids and Dad even rapped a rollicking version of “It’s your birthday Gigi” which was the cutest thing ever.
Gigi is a very laid-back Grandma, according to Darian, the oldest daughter. She said that Gigi lets them get away with things, and they do their part by just shutting up and letting things happen. I think she speaks for a lot of kids when she says that.
Who hasn’t revelled in the fact that their Grandparents let them get away with murder? I know I did as a child. The triplets have decided that they want to leave with Gigi when she goes back home. Gigi is so proud of her Grandchildren, and she has every right to be, they have big dreams!
One of the triplets said that they wanted to move to Paris when they were older and one of the children said that he wanted to play for the NBA, he even said that he wanted his jersey number to be 425. She said that that would definitely “help take care of your Gigi” and indeed it would. Let’s hope that these kids get to live out their dreams. Stay tuned!!!
