CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers finds that there’s nothing like a celebrity guest star to spice things up, and the show has some throwback spoilery fun stuff to help get us ready for the show.
Guest stars are as old as television, as we love seeing our favorite pop artists, movies stars, and sports stars put in the occasional appearance. It gives us an extra incentive to tune in, and we usually do without fail.
Of course, their performance may not be stellar or memorable aside of it being them, but that’s not something we worry about.
In this episode from June 12, 2008, superstar singer Katy Perry makes an appearance for a photo shoot for Restless Style, a fashion magazine created by Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman), Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford), Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow), and Sharon Newman (Sharon Case).

The fact that Jack and Nick spent most of the episode, and their time working together, arguing over who’s in charge. It’s what happens when there are two alphas working together. Either creative genius comes out, or an implosion or explosion that levels everything happens.
Either way, ‘Young and the Restless’ think it’s entertaining to see it play out in a good old fashioned Abbott and Newman feud.

While Jack and Nick were embroiled in one of their standard fights over control and whose ideas work best, Katy Perry arrived but had to wait to find out what whose plan it was. The fight was so intense, she hadn’t a clue as to what clothes she’d wear for the photoshoot.
Jack didn’t like the rock star outfit, so Sharon came up with the idea to trim one of the gowns for Katy to wear. It seemed that Sharon saved the day as Katy appreciated it and thought it was a cool idea.

Things took an interesting turn when Jana Hawkes (Emily O’Brien) and Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart) arrived.
They weren’t exactly expected as they didn’t arrive for business. Well, not the type of business involving the magazine. In fact, they came for Katy’s autograph. Kevin even took it a step further by saying they should hang out sometime.
Things settle down and Katy eventually left. But then Jack received a phone call from an advertiser claiming they weren’t interested in a young and hip Restless Style. When it rains, it pours.
