CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers finds that though 2020 may not have been the golden year for reality (ahem, a global pandemic overtaking the world’s population and halting production of our favourite soap operas), it has held great things for Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman). Despite their patched-up relationship as of late, there was a time where the two men were the equivalent of two wild animals fighting over the same bone. Yesterday, producers took viewers back to June 21, 1999 to remind us just how nasty the feud between the two Y&R veterans got.
CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ Recap: Victor and Jack Wild-Wild-West Style
Victor is distraught. His desk has been overrun by a portrait of his arch nemesis, Jack. Never in his life did he think his fate would be dictated by an Abbott – yet here Victor was, jobless and single. Victor naturally smashes the portrait, smashes a pencil, and basically just makes a fool of himself in front of Jack as Jack stands there and just stares at a grown man throwing a hissy fit. Honestly, this is one of the most interesting bits of confrontation that we’ve seen on the show in quite some time. Victor begins to even utter threats to Jack! As he breaks the pencil in half, he tells Jack that he is going to do the exact same thing to him next! As viewers can see, Jack is clearly shaking in his boots. It’s an overwhelming threat.
Anyways, there’s Victor’s company torn right from his hands, and as angry as he is, let’s all try to remember that he did convince his family that he was dead while he was just actually galivanting off in Kansas with another woman. So, in the big scheme of things, maybe it doesn’t hurt to take Jack’s side on this nasty feud. Who do you agree with? Did you laugh during Victor’s temper tantrum?
