As we all know the remains of Lori Vallow’s children, Tylee and JJ, have been found and they were found on the property of Chad Daybell in Rexburg, Idaho. It appears that these children suffered a great deal, and most definitely needlessly because of their own Mother’s greed and selfishness. You can only claim so much of this was brainwashing but we have it on pretty good authority that Lori Vallow just wanted to live a worry free financial life free of her kids. However there is one person out there that had information that could have halted this wild goose chase a long time ago, and that is Lori’s friend, Melanie Gibb.
If you will remember Melanie Gibb was the friend that was interviewed by Dateline NBC a few months ago when this case was gaining some really big media attention. It was gaining big media attention because even though Lori Vallow was sitting in jail and she could have cracked at any time and told the whereabouts of her kids, she literally said nothing while sitting in jail, knowing full well that her children’s bodies were buried in her husband’s back yard. I guess it’s nice to have an alleged ‘god-sanctioned’ permanent vacation from your kids, even if that does mean that you’re rotting in a prison cell.
Melanie Gibb just as guilty as Lori Vallow and Chad Daybell?
Melanie Gibb basically knew about all of this. The reason why is she went on one of the websites dedicated to this particular doomsday cult and did a full on rant about the things that she knew, including when Lori first told her that JJ was now a zombie and that he was crawling around on the kitchen cabinets. This behavior realistically might have been explained by the fact that JJ was special needs and perhaps something had prompted him to do so but to Lori and by extension Melanie this meant Zombie and this meant that little JJ could not exist anymore.
Melanie said all kinds of interesting things that she didn’t dare tell dateline. Like Lori had told her that both she and Melanie were part of the 144,000 destined to get into heaven and that Chad Daybell used to be James in the bible and that they used to be married and that they had been married several times to each other in other “probations” or whatever this cult called last lives. She said Chad told her that they needed to be together and that she was his favorite and all this kind of stuff. She said at one point Lori had told her when Tylee was 12 or 13 and had become hard to deal with as tweens and early teens often are that her body had been taken over by a Zombie and Tylee was quick to tell her “not me Mom!”
The heartbreaking thing about all of this is that Tylee was old enough to realize exactly what the term zombie meant to both her Mom and to her now evil stepfather Chad Daybell and to her crazed Uncle Alex whom, it looks like was the one who may have actually done the deed seeing as his cell phone data had him at Lori’s house in the middle of the night and then at Chad’s property literally early the next day around the time that Tylee went missing. Melanie also knew about a text sent that described them “burying a racoon” and “getting rid of limb debris” around that time.
And she never once thought to mention this to the police or even to dateline when she was being interviewed. No, she kept on being vague about everything and saying that she didn’t know where the kids were. She knew what the words zombie meant in her circle. It was their belief that if a person was a zombie that their soul was trapped in their body and that the only way to let the soul out was to kill the body that it inhabited, killing the zombie in the process. Melanie knew this because she was in the same cult. She could have come forward at any time with this information, she could have even said things on dateline if she had been afraid to come forward to law enforcement at first but no, she kept mum.
She says she found solace in god but I would like to know which god that was because the God I know wouldn’t look too kindly upon the murder of children and the concealment of their bodies. What it looks like is she knew exactly what happened to the Vallow children but turned a blind eye for fear that she would be deemed the next ‘zombie’ and killed, but the thing is she could have always offered an anonymous tip and kept her identity secret, so what was really behind her silence? I think if you look up the definition of cowardice in the dictionary you’ll find her picture. We at DSD will stay atop the developments in this case. Stay tuned!!!
