Obviously, the Queen is an extremely busy woman, which means that she doesn’t have the time to break in shoes herself. That means that the job lands at someone that shares the same size-four feet as her Majesty. The book reveals that the Queen entrusts a trusted worker to break in the shoes, but there are some vital rules that must be followed.
Ankle socks must be worn when wearing the shoes, and they also must only be worn on the carpet. Since the Queen is on her feet the whole day, she can ill-afford running the risk of getting blisters when meeting leaders from around the world. The shoes are tested outside on one occasion to ensure that they have the grip needed for Her Majesty.

Another book titled ‘Not In Front Of The Corgis’ also goes into depth about travelling with the Queen and royal family. The book admits that some members of staff aren’t particularly thrilled to travel with the family as they are forced to wear the best clothes before getting changes as they get on the plane into something more comfy.
