NBC ‘Days of Our Lives’ (DOOL) spoilers finds that producers have recently confirmed that they will be coming back from another reason! This provides confirmation that the long-time running daytime drama will be gracing our screens until at least August 2021. However, the news came with some disappointment with the announcement that other actors may not be returning.
Chandler Massey is one of the actors confirmed to be leaving the show. Unfortunately, the daytime drama didn’t ask to renew his contract. Massey began on ‘Days of Our Lives’ ten years ago, back as 2010 as Sami and Lucas’s son, Will.

Massey’s character, Will, provided the show with a unique and sensitive character development of Will coming out. In 2014, Will had been briefly killed off until 2017, when Massey returned and explained that he was brought back to life by Dr. Rolf. He has been a steady actor on the show ever since. Freddie Smith announced via YouTube that he would also be exiting the show. Freddie Smith played Sonny Kiriakis – son of Justin Kiriakis and Adrienne Kiriakis. He was introduced to the show back in 2011 as an openly gay character. He eventually ended up marrying Will (played by Chandler Massey). His storyline involved a gay bashing tragedy and lead to a brief departure back in 2015.

With the announcement of both Will and Sonny exiting the show, it inevitably leads to questions about how their departure will play out. Both characters are relatively young in age and have a history together. Fans are beginning to speculate that their departure may be tragic – after all, any soap lover can assume that there will be more drama than the two simply moving away from Salem.
