NBC ‘Days of Our Lives’ (DOOL) spoilers finds that it looks like Chandler Massey (Will Horton) and Freddie Smith (Sonny Kiriakis) aren’t the only ones feeling the burn of recent contract cuts. Galen Gering (Rafe Hernandez) recently posted on his instagram that this week would be his last week of filming at ‘Days of Our Lives’. Don’t worry if you feel betrayed and it’s kind of a shock to your system, it’s a shock to ours too. Out of all the characters on DOOL, Rafe’s one of the ones we did not expect to leave so soon.
He didn’t really have anything going on right now besides assisting John Black (Drake Hogestyn), Roman Brady (Josh Taylor), and the rest of the Rambo Squad in Prague but he was still a valuable character on the Salem landscape… I mean, who else is going to fumble all that evidence? I mean, now since Hope is out of commission. Sorry/Not Sorry.

Seriously though, Rafe was just getting into the swing of things in his Salem PD career and Abe Carver (James Reynolds) can’t be the only decent cop in Salem. There will definitely be some holes to fill on the Salem PD force soon. But how does Rafe leave? Well, no one actually knows yet. Considering Her Highness Princess Gina AKA Hope Brady (Kristian Alfonso) almost pulled one over on him enough to do him in last week, well, that doesn’t sound too promising. I’m not sure what Rafe’s exit will be, but we’ll hope that maybe he just gets transferred to another precinct, maybe then he can have room to come back.
We don’t actually know what’s going to go down in the coming months. We still have to reveal the whole baby swap thing and you now, Jordan Ridgeway’s (Chrishell Hartley) murder hasn’t been truly solved yet, maybe it will be something to do with that? After all, Jordan did almost manage to poison him that one time. No, I’m not suggesting that Jordan comes back, but rather I am suggesting that he helped put away an innocent man who went to death row. Fate doesn’t look too kindly on people who do that… so, we’ll just have to wait and see what kind of things are in store for our favorite cop.
The sucky thing is, it looks like his last day of filming was on his birthday? Ouch, DOOL, that’s kind of cold. But oh well, business is business I suppose, the show must go on and all. Still, Gerin didn’t seem to be bitter about that, in fact he said that it was rather fitting that his last day was on his birthday and said that he was thankful for the friends he had made for a lifetime and the support of the greatest fans in the world. Awwww, we love you too, Galen! Fortunately, we still have Galen on-screen, at least, until Fall. Stay tuned!!!
