NBC ‘Days of Our Lives’ (DOOL) spoilers brought sad news recently. It seems that WilSon is about to be no more. Following Freddie Smith’s (Sonny Kiriakis) announcement, we saw Chandler Massey (Will Horton) take to the Freddie and Alyssa show so they could discuss the situation. Let’s look at some of what they said, as well as the ironic interview we saw shortly before the news.
NBC ‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Strange times
They pulled no punches on the podcast. While it was clear they went out of their way to say they harbor no bad feelings, they did point out how it did sting to not be told upfront. They found out basically through the scripts, and from what we understand, only got confirmation of such when Freddie asked upfront.
Also, they talked about the strange times this year has brought. One, they mentioned how the renewal news is coming later, and it’s trending year-to-year. They also pointed out how there were multiple announcements of the renewal following some cancellation rumors. Behind the scenes, there was also apparently talk of moving to the streaming service, but the weirdest was yet to come. They pointed out they rarely get notes, but as they started filming a certain scene, there were plenty of notes coming at them, which set off alarm bells. They figure the PTB wants this moment to be perfect because that’s likely it. Still, through it all, this pair is keeping it positive.

NBC ‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Good attitude
Both actors expressed a lot of gratitude for their time on the show, lots of expressions of no hard feelings, and love for their fans. But even as they discussed what was obviously a sad topic, they brought some good energy to the table. They’ve let go of a lot of the shock and disappointment, and they’re making a choice moving forward.
Days of Our Lives spoilers indicate that no matter what the end for WilSon, the actors are looking ahead with a good perspective. They’ve chosen to embrace the unknown and look forward to new opportunities, as well as possibly reinventing their lives, as Massey contemplated a return to Atlanta for a while. In a very philosophical moment, they both completed how this might have been the Universe’s way of pushing them to something else, as neither actor had any intention of going. It’s interesting to note, by the way, that Smith also got a psychic reading earlier this year/late last year that predicted he wasn’t long for the daytime world. Interestingly enough, this news also came on the heels of an interview where Massey talked about Will’s journey in recent months.
NBC ‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Reflections
In an interview with ABC Soaps in Depth, Massey spoke about the crazy turn Will’s life has taken, and how much he’s been enjoying it as an actor. He especially loved the unlikely bond that developed between him and Robert Scott Wilson’s Ben Weston. A former killer’s victim becoming his closest friend right now is definitely a bit of irony.
Also, he spoke about the effect the accident had on Will and Sonny’s relationship, and spoke of how hard it has been for Will to accept what he thought he did. But, the actor was hopeful about the future, as Will recently learned it was really Maggie Kiriakis (Suzanne Rogers) who caused the crash, as well as the mixed feelings Will has about the choice he now faces. It’s a great look into the actor’s mind, as well as a sad read for fans who now know this character won’t be around much longer.
