Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are doing the exact thing the late Queen Elizabeth II had always feared they would do.
Harry and Meghan Were Warned by the Late Queen Elizabeth II Not to Use their Titles for Commercial Gain
The couple are on a cosplay royal tour in Australia right now and plan to cash in as much as possible on their royal titles.
Back when Harry and Meghan wanted to step down as working royals, Harry went to the Queen and asked for a “half-in, half-out” arrangement in which they could become financially independent while still representing the monarch and supporting the Commonwealth.
There was no world in which the Queen would ever allow them to do this. She expressly told them that it was either “all-in or all-out,” an ultimatum that prompted Harry and Meghan’s departure as working royals and their subsequent move to the United States.
In the Queen’s mind, Harry’s suggestion would “blur the lines” between serving the public and using their titles for personal gain. She was very clear with Harry that she would never approve of that.
Meghan’s girls’ weekend retreat in Sydney, where she’s charging an asinine $2,500 to $3,000 per ticket, is essentially taking advantage of the public by using her title as “The Duchess of Sussex” to make money.
She’s also partnered with the AI fashion platform, OneOff, to sell her outfits. Meghan will earn revenue every time a fan purchases an item.
There Needs to be a Conversation About Stripping the Couple of their Titles
As of right now, it’s unclear how much Meghan will make from the deal. However, it’s likely to be more than what she made when she tried to earn commission on her clothes from another platform, ShopMy, which she suddenly closed down with no explanation.
Now, with Harry and Meghan’s faux-royal trip in progress, a source close to the late Queen told the Daily Mail,
“While I am not going to speculate on what Her Majesty would have thought about all this, I can tell you with utmost certainty that this is exactly what she tried to ensure wouldn’t happen.”
Harry and Meghan are off in Australia doing what they were warned not to do. You might think there would be a conversation started about stripping Harry and Meghan of their titles, but there isn’t.
King Charles is simply too invested in a potential reconciliation with Harry to give it a second thought. However, if Prince William were King, none of this would be happening.
It took forever for the King to suck it up and strip his brother, “The Andrew formerly known as Prince,” of his titles. How long will the Sussexes be permitted to break the rules?
Andrew Mountbatten Windsor had to be arrested before Charles would strip him of his royal titles and honors. The whole situation with Andrew was absurd.
Harry and Meghan are Mimicking Traditional Royal Roles to Make Money
Meanwhile, Harry and Meghan are mimicking traditional royal duties despite their exit. The Queen never wanted this outcome for the royal family.
It’s a slap in the face to the true working royals, those who are committed to a life of public service without seeking commercial rewards.
The couple has done everything in their power to capitalize on their status, and this upcoming weekend with Meghan proves they can’t be trusted. It’s all about greed.
There is nothing deeper to Meghan than her sole motivation: making money. There should be talk of stripping Harry and Meghan of their titles at this point.
Earlier today, Prince Harry declared that he never wanted to be a working royal because “it killed his mum.” This was, of course, after Meghan claimed that she was the most bullied person online.
He was speaking at his $ 1,000-per-person InterEdge Summit in Melbourne Park. Harry said that he
“felt lost, betrayed, and completely powerless during his life.”
Harry added,
“It killed my mum, and I was very much against it, and I stuck my head in the sand for years and years. Eventually, I realized, well, hang on, if there was somebody else in this position, how would they be making the most of this platform and this ability and the resources that come with it to make a difference in the world? And also, what would my mum want me to do? And that really changed my own perspective.”
