Kate Middleton and Prince William are scaling back their royal duties in April. Royal fans know that the Prince and Princess of Wales have adopted a family-first approach to royal life.
William and Kate’s Children Are On Easter Break from Lambrook School
William and Kate have had a very busy past few weeks in March. They helped King Charles welcome the Nigerian President, Bola Tinubu, and the First Lady of Nigeria, Oluremi Tinubu, at Windsor Castle.
The royal couple also attended the installation ceremony of the new Archbishop of Canterbury. Dame Sarah Mullally is the first female to lead the Church of England.
Kate and William are taking a step back from their royal schedule to spend more time with their family. Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis will be on a school break for Easter.
The kids all attend Lambrook School, which is close to their home, Forest Lodge in Windsor. The school ended its term on Friday, March 27th.
Students will not return to the classroom until April 22nd. So, Kate and William decided to slow down the pace of their duties come April.
William and Kate have previously discussed their decision to prioritize family, and when William becomes King, the family won’t be living in a castle; instead, they’ll stay at their new, forever home at Forest Lodge.
The Wales are known to travel together during school breaks. Last year, the family went skiing in the French Alps. They also enjoy spending time outdoors.
Kate, William, and their kids often go to their country home, Anmer Hall in Norfolk. During a 2020 interview with Kate, she revealed that her favorite times with her family are usually “Outside in the countryside and we’re all filthy dirty.”
The Prince and Princess of Wales and their Kids Will Likely Spend Time In Nature
Princess Catherine believes that kids who spend time in nature often have a better chance of growing up and becoming happy, healthy adults.
However, there is no word yet whether Wales will join the rest of the royal family for their traditional Easter church service.
While in the past, the Prince and Princess have attended Easter mass with their children, the family has skipped the past two years.
The family endured a very difficult time when Kate was diagnosed with cancer in 2024. Kate underwent chemotherapy and was out of the public eye.
Thankfully, in January 2025, Kate announced that she was in remission, sharing the news in an emotional video and social media post, sharing that she completed chemotherapy in September 2024.
An appreciation for nature has long been important to Kate and also played a pivotal role in her recovery from cancer.
It’s highly likely that wherever the Wales family chooses to spend their vacation time, some of it will be spent surrounded by nature.
Not to mention, there will also be some yummy Easter treats. Kate and William previously shared that their children enjoyed celebrating Easter with a traditional Easter egg hunt.
William also revealed that, much like most children, George, Charlotte, and Louis tend to go wild for Easter candy.
During an interview in 2020, William said, “There will be a lot of chocolate eaters here, don’t worry!” Kate laughed and said, “You keep eating it!”
Kate Middleton and Prince William have consistently emphasized that family is their top priority. The couple’s main focus is to create a safe, loving, and supportive environment for their children.
