‘General Hospital’ spoilers suggest that Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) and Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) are better off as BFFS.

‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Carly and Jason Realized They Had to Let Each Other Live Their Own Lives

In the March 9th episode of GH, we were reminded of how beautiful the strength of Carly and Jason’s bond is. Of course, Laura Wright and Steve Burton are always spectacular when they share scenes together.

For the first time, Jason and Carly decided they were going to allow each other to make their own decisions. It started with Jason’s attempt to demand that Carly cut ties with Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart).

Carly didn’t tell Jason that she was hiding fugitive Valentin, or that they had teamed up to seek revenge on Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna). Jason wasn’t too pleased. Jason warned Carly away from Valentin, as she could get herself killed.

However, Carly refused, as Valentin offers her the clearest path to getting her daughter, Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy), out of the WSB.

Jason eventually relented, but he didn’t like it. He realized he needed to trust Carly on this one. Carly, in turn, mentioned that Jason had also kept secrets about his plan with Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud). Jason told Carly that Britt’s story wasn’t his to tell.

The BFFs realized they had to let each other live their own lives, and in a heart-rendering scene, reminiscent of the first time Carly saw Jason when he came back to Port Charles two years ago, Jason declared that no matter what, it would always be the two of them against the world.

‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: No Other Friendship On GH Compares to “Jarly”

The decades of loyalty between Carly and Jason is unmatched. No other friendship on GH compares. Not by a long shot. They have prioritized each other’s well-being repeatedly over the years, often setting aside their own lives to do so.

The unconditional love between them is the stuff of soap legend. They are the true soulmates of daytime TV. When they tried to become a couple, it felt forced.

Most GH fans recall when Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) was in Nixon Falls with amnesia, living as someone named “Mike,” while all of Port Charles thought the mob boss was dead.

'General Hospital' Spoilers. Carly and Jason back in the day

The main reason “Jarly’s” wedding was so moving was because of their friendship, not because they truly belong together as man and wife.

When Sonny returned on Jason and Carly’s wedding night, Jason stepped aside without saying a word. He simply took off his ring and walked away. The “friend code” between the trio is unspoken and unwavering.

‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: A History Rooted In Truth and Deeply Felt Loyalty

The love Carly and Jason feel for each other simply doesn’t need to be romantic to be powerful. It’s the romantic part that often complicates sustainable platonic friendship.

Carly and Jason’s unbreakable connection started years ago when Jason Quartermaine first became Jason Morgan. Carly didn’t push him to remember his past and accepted him for who he was.

In turn, Jason accepted who Carly was and is literally the only person who can get her to think before she reacts impulsively. “Take a deep breath and count to ten,” as Jason would lovingly advise her.

    Jason and Carly

Their history is rooted in truth and deeply felt loyalty. Jason and Carly are certainly the loves of each other’s lives, but love can come to us in many forms. For Jason and Carly, it’s a lifelong, ride-or-die friendship, for better or worse.

The transcending connection these two share is far more compelling than any romantic drama. Wright and Burton work magnificently together as BFF soulmates, Carly and Jason, whose chemistry is a rare gem and has only matured in value over time.
