Kate Middleton radiated in a stunning blue outfit by Catherine Walker on Commonwealth Day with Prince William by her side.
Kate Middleton Wore a Pair of Bahrain Pearl Drop Earrings that Once Belonged to the Queen
In a sweet tribute to the late Queen Elizabeth II, the Princess of Wales wore a gorgeous pair of Bahrain pearl drop earrings that once belonged to Her Majesty.
When the Queen was married to Prince Philip, he gifted her a “treasure trove of jewels,” including a set of seven pearls. Two of these pearls were used to create the earrings.
Kate’s blue Catherine Walker coat dress consisted of a collared gown, a pleated skirt, and a matching hat.
The future Queen accessorized with a sophisticated strand of vintage pearls around her neck, a pair of Gianvito Rossi pumps, and a matching Strathberry bag.
She styled her hair in her trademark cascading Chestnut waves. As always, Kate was a vision to behold. This afternoon, Kate and William joined King Charles and Queen Camilla for Commonwealth Day.
The largest group of royals since the shocking arrest of Andrew Mountbatten Windsor were present to mark Commonwealth Day at Westminster Abbey.
Some of the senior royals present were Princess Anne and her husband, Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, and the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester.
Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer joined the royal family earlier today. The King delivered his annual address to the family of nations. Prince Albert of Monaco also joined the service.
King Charles Gave His Commonwealth Day message, focused on “Being a Force for Good.”
King Charles is the head of the Commonwealth. It’s a role he took over after the Queen’s death in September 2022. The congregation today at Westminster Abbey included nearly 1,800 people.
In the King’s Commonwealth Day message, he said,
“Working together, we can ensure that the Commonwealth continues to stand as a force for good.”
Charles suggested in his address, “The institution has untapped potential for prosperous trade between trusting partners.”
The King also shares,
“In a world that can feel increasingly fragmented, this voluntary union of free association remains rare and precious. A forum for open and honest discussion and debate to help improve the lives of the nearly three billion people who call our member states home.”
Inside, the members of the royal family greeted each other. Kate gave the King a proper curtsey and a kiss on the cheek as a sign of respect.
Additionally, the event took place at the same venue where the Prince and Princess of Wales were married nearly 15 years ago on April 29th.
The BBC made the Decision Not to air the Commonwealth Day Message for the First Time In 37 years.
Sadly, for the first time in 37 years, the BBC decided not to air its annual broadcast of the Commonwealth Day service. The event has been broadcast live from Westminster Abbey each year since 1989.
According to the Daily Mail,
“The service featured artistic moments, including the world premiere of the Commonwealth Symphony, composed by Rekesh Chauhan, and a bespoke dance collaboration between the Royal Ballet School and Sapnay Entertainments, uniting classic ballet and Bollywood in an expression of cross-cultural partnership.”
The publication added,
“Other performers include a Scottish ceildish band, and the Melodians Steel Orchestra, and further special reflections and readings from guests.”
The Commonwealth Day event comes after Kate Middelton shared a special message for International Women’s Day, which was yesterday, March 8th.
Kate Middleton wrote on social media,
“Today we celebrate the kindness, resilience, and quiet strength of women in our families and communities.”
She wrote her message alongside a photo of a mom holding her baby,
“This day is about standing up alongside one another and recognizing the loving influence of women, who nurture and hope, encourage others, and help make the world kinder and more compassionate.”
