‘The Young and the Restless’ spoilers suggest that Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) may decide to double-cross Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) for stealing the AI program.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Lily Started to Warm Up to Cane
We know that Cane changes his mind like the wind, especially when Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) or his kids express disappointment with his actions.
He’s a fickle, indecisive character who seems to be struggling with an identity crisis. It’s either that, or he’s playing Phyllis like a fiddle.
Cane took a firm stance with Phyllis, telling her he was done being Aristotle Dumas. He also knew that Phyllis had stolen the AI software and given it to Victor Newman (Eric Braden).

Cane and Lily had started getting cozy, and he was determined to be a better man. Then, Lily rejected him and left town. Once she was gone, Cane decided to let Dumas come out and play.
So, Cane and Phyllis unleashed the dangerous AI on Newman Enterprises, decimating it from the inside out. Now, he’s back in bed with the redhead and plans to give Newman to Phyllis.
Cane obviously needed Phyllis to help him, and perhaps he used her for the sole purpose of seeking revenge on Victor for what he did to Arabesque.

For a while, Phyllis lied to Cane and denied taking the software. Cane seemed to want nothing to do with Phyllis anymore. Yet, feeling the sting of Lily’s rejection, he may blame Phyllis for Lily leaving him.
After all, Lily saw Phyllis kiss Cane before her New Year’s Eve visit. Yet, she finally gave in and kissed Cane herself.
He was finally getting somewhere with Lily, but Cane may see Phyllis as an obstacle in achieving a reunion with his true love.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Cane May Blame Phyllis for Lily Pushing Him Away and Wants Revenge
Setting up Phyllis for the fallout of them taking over Victor’s family company might be his most devious and brilliant plan yet.
Cane has nothing left to lose, but Phyllis’s family is turning against her, starting with the father of her child, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow).
Nick promised her that he would explain the situation to Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) and make it clear to their daughter about Phyllis’s role in destroying her grandfather’s legacy.

We can also imagine Cane giving Phyllis control of Newman Enterprises and then taking it back and terminating her from her new role at the company.
The partnership between Cane and Phyllis only happened after Lily left Genoa City. We suspect he may be seeking payback against Phyllis for coming between him and Lily.
Y&R spoilers also hint that Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) will soon warn Phyllis that Cane may double-cross her. Victoria will show up on Cane’s train next week, ready for battle.

Knowing Phyllis, she’ll shrug it off, but maybe the “heads up” she receives from Victoria foreshadows Cane’s true intentions for Phyllis.
If Cane betrays Phyllis, she’ll have no one left to turn to. Her family will undoubtedly disown her. Nick also warned Phyllis that there was no coming back from what she did.
We have to wonder how Lily will react when she returns to Genoa City and finds out that her worst fears about Cane have been confirmed.
