General Hospital spoilers share the sad news that Tristian Rogers, who is known for his iconic portrayal of Robert Scorpio, has announced his heartbreaking cancer diagnosis.
Rogers is also known for playing Colin Atkinson on The Young and the Restless and Hunter Jones on The Bold and the Beautiful. He is currently following a treatment plan and is working closely with his medical team.
General Hospital Spoilers: A Press Release Revealed Tristan Rogers Was Diagnosed With Cancer
A press release revealed his health condition:
“Beloved Emmy-winning actor, Tristian Rogers, best known for his role as Robert Scorpio on the daytime drama, General Hospital, is sharing with fans that he has been diagnosed with cancer,”
the press release began.
“While he remains hopeful and is working closely with his medical team on a treatment plan, this is a challenging time for Tristian and his family. As they face both the emotional and physical burdens that come with this diagnosis, the family kindly asks for privacy and understanding.”
The message continued,
“They are deeply grateful for the outpouring of support and love from their friends and family. Tristian sends his love to fans and wants them to know how much he appreciates their loyalty and encouragement over the years.”
“This support means more to him now more than ever,”
the press release concluded.
“Future updates will be shared if deemed appropriate by Tristian and his family.”
Rogers created the role of Robert Scorpio in December 1980. He came on the scene as an international spy for the WSB.
Robert was involved in the Ice Princess storyline and the most popular soap supercouple of all time, Luke Spencer (Tony Geary) and Laura Webber (Genie Francis). He was also involved in several adventures with his best friend, Luke.
He eventually became the police commissioner of Port Charles. His character, Robert, is a legendary force on the show, as is the actor who portrays him.
General Hospital Spoilers: The Last Time GH Fans Saw Robert Was November 2024 Until Today!
The last time fans saw Robert was in November of last year. That is, until today’s episode. In November, Robert found out that Sasha Corbin (Sofia Mattsson) is his daughter with Holly Sutton (Emma Samms).
Robert was informed by Sasha, who at the time was dating her own cousin, Cody Bell (Josh Kelly). A DNA test proved that Robert was, in fact, her father.
Sasha, Robert, and Holly became close after Sasha was kidnapped by Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota). Robert and Holly left Port Charles shortly after, setting out on an adventure.
Robert made a surprise appearance on the July 17th episode of GH. Sasha and Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) brought baby Daisy (Levi Clark Coughlin) to see Robert, who was thrilled to meet his new granddaughter.
Rogers isn’t alone in his cancer battle. His fellow GH colleague, John J. York, who plays Robert’s brother, Mac Scorpio, on the soap, was also diagnosed with cancer. York announced his condition in January 2024.
The actor was diagnosed with two blood and bone marrow cancers. He received a blood stem cell transplant.
Thankfully, he underwent an aggressive form of treatment, and last November, York’s prayers were answered when he found his match through BeThe Match.org.
York returned to his role as Mac Scorpio on GH in June 2024. We hope for a positive outcome for Rogers as well.
