‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers suggest that there was a lot of talk and speculation prior to the Nurses Ball this year. We could never have predicted that GH would deliver such an emotionally charged, action-packed series of episodes full of several soapy surprises.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Gio’s Reveal Was Heartbreaking
Quite a number of secrets finally came out. While we certainly expected Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Breuning) to blow up the Gio Palmieri (Giovanni Mazza) secret, we never expected poor Gio to be the one to reveal the shocking news himself, especially not onstage.
Giovanni Mazza’s performance was heartbreaking, as his pain was palpable. Smashing his violin was significant, as the woman he believed was his mother taught him everything he knew about music.
His perceived “rejection” by his birth parents, Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamproga) and Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton), made him feel unwanted and unloved. In one anger-fueled moment, he conveyed his deep hurt upon learning his “whole life had been a lie,” as Lulu put it when confronting Lois Cerullo (Rena Sofer).
Lulu, of course, didn’t listen to Carly Spencer’s (Laura Wright) words of warning. She set the wheels in motion for the truth to come out and a lot of relationships to be destroyed as a result.
The fallout of that long-held secret is just beginning. Dante was never told Brook Lynn had his child. He was reeling from the idea that the kid he watched grow up in Bensonhurst was actually his own son.
The big reveal came on the heels of Dante playing the blame game and inexplicably pointing the finger at Gio after Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr) got alcohol poisoning.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Portia May Soon Regret Her Choice To Leave Curtis In The Dark
We also got Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) and his wife, Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr), to confirm what he already knew. Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) was blackmailing her, and she kept the truth from him again.
Portia lied about Trina Robinson’s (Tabyana Ali) parentage, her whole life, up until a couple of years ago. Curtis has a life-changing decision to make. True to form, Portia begged Curtis not to end their marriage. However, it looks like they will have a lot to work out when the night ends.
We’re still waiting to see who Drew plans to use that vial of ketamine on. His former bedmate, Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros), or the doctor who is responsible for carefully studying Drew’s stats and coercing Brad Cooper (Parry Shen) to get his greedy hands on the nefarious party drug.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Michael’s Grand Entrance Showed Willow And Drew Who’s Boss
Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) finally told Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi) that Ava Jerome (Maura West) and Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) had proof that she had mistakenly cut the brakes on Ric’s car, thinking the vehicle belonged to Ava.
Kristina, who looked like a deer caught in the headlights, seemed genuinely shocked that she had been busted. She pulled a near-fatal, reckless stunt that could have killed Ric and Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst). Also, her actions could rack up a heavy cost to her freedom.
Last but not least, we got Michael Corinthos’s long-awaited return. Y&R vet Rory Gibson is now playing Michael after Chad Duell’s unfortunate departure. We knew we would see Michael’s return during the Nurses Ball. This was the ideal place for him to show up suddenly.
The look on Drew and Willow Tait Corinthos’s (Katelyn MacMullen) faces when they saw Michael was priceless. After Drew taunted Carly, boasting arrogantly that he and Willow’s chances of being granted custody were infinitely higher.
Everyone’s least favorite couple was finally put in their place when Michael appeared. Next, a big, soapy, epic custody battle that will put the cherry on top.
