90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days introduced the infamous Sunny and Veah couple known for their jealousy and now religious issues. Their relationship had already started kind of rough thanks to Veah.
Sunny was stated to have a lot of jealousy problems, only for Veah to bring her ex-boyfriend Rory along to South Africa to meet him. Obviously, this does not end well, but more issues only start to come up when discussing Sunny’s Muslim religion.
Despite sleeping together on their first night meeting in person, the couple is confronted by Sunny’s friends about how Veah must become a Muslim. While this isn’t the first time that Muslim pairing conflicts have happened on the show, it’s really strange how Sunny never brought this up to Veah before meeting or sleeping together.
In fact, the couple were very honest about video calling each other while naked in their first segment, so where does Sunny stand in all this?
90 Day Fiancé’s: Sunny Never Defends Veah
During Veah’s meeting with Sunny’s father, Veah’s tattoos are brought up in a tense conversation. The father is shown to be rather strict when it comes to following the Muslim religion and removing Veah’s tattoos.
What caught me and a lot of fans off guard, however, was when Veah claimed, “Sunny likes them.” and all Sunny could do was give her a critical side-eye.
But Sunny’s father doesn’t believe that Sunny likes the tattoos since it should be against what he believes. Considering Sunny’s openness to sleep with Veah immediately and his professions of attraction towards her in the past, this is clearly false.
What threw a lot of fans in a loop during this scene is that Sunny is completely silent. There are zero attempts to defend Veah at all including while with his friends, but maybe this was on purpose.
For example, it’s just as much of a surprise that Veah did not bring up her and Sunny sleeping together despite that going completely against Sunny’s religion. This could be because Veah wants to still try and be close to Sunny’s family, but the hypocrisy and silence on Sunny’s part is odd nonetheless.
90 Day Fiancé’s: Sunny’s Hypocrisy Could Mean a Lot of Things
Redditor @CommentFrownedUpon made a post claiming that Sunny could have just used Veah as a means for “free sex” and a lot of fans agree. The Redditor claimed, “He knew damn well most western women won’t convert to Muslim, get rid of their tattoos, etc. he saw Veah as the perfect opportunity.”
While it’s left to be said as to whether Sunny could be using Veah, he does have a problem with picking and choosing when to be a strict Muslim or not.
Another theory could simply be that Sunny is afraid of his father or his inner circle’s opinions of him. Sunny may not actually be interested in the Muslim religion. After all, his father denies his clear attraction to Veah’s tattoos, therefore denying what we have seen of Sunny so far when it comes to his attraction for her.
I do believe that Sunny is attracted to Veah, but is likely too emotionally immature to confront his father or his friends’ beliefs for her. Both Sunny and Veah have showcased significant maturity issues.
Whether it is Veah bringing her ex-boyfriend on the trip and Sunny’s explosive jealousy, in a way they are almost perfect for each other in that aspect.
