On the second episode of 90 Day: The Last Resort’s season 2, after another fight between Gino and Jasmine, Jasmine storms out to call and vent to her “best friend” Matt. For those in the know, the name Matt should ring a bell.
It has been rumored time and time again that Jasmine has been dating Matt since sometime after November of 2023 when they first met. This would cause Jasmine to allegedly get kicked out of the house by Gino for being caught cheating.
It seems blatant that Jasmine and Gino haven’t been dating for quite a while with even Gino having moved on too. Yet now here we are in this episode where Jasmine tries desperately to convince the producers and the audience that Matt is “just a friend.”
The Infamous Phone Call
Jasmine abruptly calls her future man while in tears outside of the resort. She and Gino had gotten into a huge fight over failing to compromise on her “independence” rock in therapy.
Each couple had to write on a rock one of their issues and hike with them. At a certain point, some of the couples were able to compromise and drop the heavy rock, while couples like Gino and Jasmine weren’t even close to doing so.
Now with Jasmine on the phone with Matt, Jasmine cries for any type of comfort from him that Gino could not give. What’s funny about this moment to me is that Jasmine didn’t even think to call her family first.
According to an interview she did with Access Hollywood, Jasmine didn’t want to worry her family and wanted to hear from a “neutral” party. Apparently, a man that Jasmine allegedly did photoshoots of lingerie within his apartment is considered a neutral party.
The one part of this call that is by far the most damning and frankly hilarious is Matt’s quote about Gino. Matt states, “Jasmine, Gino doesn’t realize that there is thousands of men that would jump in two seconds to be with you.” That’s really smooth Matt. Real smooth.
Clearly, this couldn’t be more of a slap to the face to Gino than anything else. Gino is by no means perfect, but there is a reason why Jasmine doesn’t want him to know about Matt. This goes deeper than simple jealousy issues on Gino’s side.
What to Take Away From Matt’s Phone Call
When the producers ask Jasmine about who Matt is, she immediately tries to deny anything romantic with him. She also confirms where she met Matt which was at a gym in Michigan. Despite her claiming that they were strictly friends at the time of recording, it’s hard for me to believe that there weren’t at least romantic thoughts between them.
This is not to mention the repeated outings that Jasmine would have that would eventually lead to her and Gino’s break up. It’s just too easy to put together and claim that Jasmine could’ve at least emotionally cheated on Gino with Matt. At the bare minimum, it’s clear as day that Matt definitely had some feelings for Jasmine based on that call and jabs against Gino.
