‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers state that Ingo Rademacher played the role of Jasper Jacks on and off from 1996 to 2021.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Vaccine Mandates Were Put In Place
For those newer viewers, Jasper, or simply “Jax,” is the father of Josslyn Jacks (Eden Mccoy) and the ex-husband of Carly Spencer (Laura Wright).
Right off the bat, the character became popular, and Jax was quite the charmer. General Hospital initially paired him with Sonny Corinthos’s longtime love, Brenda Barrett (Vanessa Marcil).
He came full circle when he wed Brenda’s nemesis, Carly, in 2007. The couple divorced due to Carly’s unhealthy connection with Jax’s enemy, Sonny.
The show had wanted someone who embodied the qualities of a smug, wealthy man with a soft heart. As a businessman, Jax could be shrewd and even sometimes ruthless.
Jax established the Metro Court Hotel, named after his then-fiancée, Courtney Matthews. The hotel opened after the Port Charles Hotel was destroyed in a fire.
Jax was a mover and shaker in Port Charles and made an indelible mark on the show. However, when the COVID crisis started and vaccines were mandated, actors Rademacher and Steve Burton, who plays Jason Morgan, were cut from the cast.
The whole issue started from real-life controversy when outspoken actress Nancy Lee Grahn, who plays Alexis Davis on the show, took to social media to address the subject of working “on a set with unmasked, unvaccinated actors.”
Vaccine mandates caused considerable strife among castmates, as Nancy Lee Grahn tweeted about working on set in what she described as less-than-favorable conditions.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Rademacher Moved Forward With An Appeal
This situation prompted the powers that be to address the issue. Disney put a vaccine mandate in place, but Ingo refused to receive the vaccine. Rademacher endorsed a No Vaccine Passport Rally” on social media. Some viewers thought this was in poor taste and called for his firing.
He then posted an Instagram video claiming that vaccines weren’t effective and lashed out at those who wanted him gone, which ended his relationship with the show, and they wrote Jax off the canvas. Rademacher sued ABC after he was fired from the show, and a legal battle ensued.
The courts initially rejected Ingo’s lawsuit, but the actor moved forward with an appeal. Rademacher recently took to social media with an Instagram post indicating that the case would go to court sometime in August.
Jax is off somewhere in Australia doing business. Josslyn has barely had any contact with her father. With so much controversy surrounding Rademacher, would the show kill off Jax?
Rademacher openly voiced his disdain over the network, and it’s highly unlikely that the show will hire him back.
Meanwhile, vaccine mandates have been lifted, and Steve Burton, also fired, is back working on the show.
But due to Rademacher’s comments and his legal pursuit, it doesn’t look like we will see Jax return anytime soon. Speculation and rumors have been circulating that the show may even decide to kill off Jax.
If the show wants to bring closure to the character, he could die in a plane crash or some other accident. The question is whether the show wants to end its association with the actor completely.
