‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers suggest that Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) and Josslyn Jacks’s (Eden McCoy) reunion may have been rushed and anti-climactic for fans.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Dex Was Originally Hired to Take Sonny Down
Dex came to town with a mission to take down Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard). He was hired by Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) to gain proof of Sonny’s illegal activities and turn him into the Feds.
So, when Dex and Michael successfully set Sonny up, they are all set to give the police the infamous flash drive, only to have Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) smash it and decide to pay Dex to protect Sonny.
Dex chose to go along with the plan once it was explained to Joss and Michael that the family would be in infinite danger if Sonny went to prison.
It wasn’t long before Sonny and Dex bonded over a meal, eating Gloria Cerullo’s (Ellen Travolta) legendary chicken piccata together, and Sonny started to trust Dex with his life.
When Sonny was relaxed about letting Dex in, enter, Brick (Stephen A. Smith), who didn’t trust Dex as far as he could throw him.
Leave it to a well-groomed mob member to suggest that someone who puts themselves in the line of fire to save their boss could just be making it appear as though they have his back.
When it became clear that Sonny had a traitor in his organization, Brick quickly pointed the finger at Dex. At first, Sonny doesn’t want to believe Dex will betray him.
Brick did some digging and found a mysterious offshore account. The account showed Dex had a large sum of money that Sonny had not paid him.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Fans Say Dex Returned Too Soon
When Sonny decided to take Dex for a ride to the Pine Barrens, we weren’t sure if we would ever see Dex again. We all hoped that Sonny wasn’t seriously going to kill him.
We were all waiting with bated breath to see if Sonny would go through with it. Then, we cried along with Joss when she discovered Dex had left town. However, we couldn’t imagine how quickly he would return to Port Charles.
Dex is a sweet guy and a good character, but Joss being able to find him right away took the suspense out of the story.
Fans agreed that Dex’s absence could have at least lasted through mid-March. It would have made more sense for Dex to go missing for several weeks.
An agitated fan took to social media to say,
“All that damn crying Joss did when Dex left only to track down and find the man within two weeks.”
Dex coming home so soon is also not a great sign.
Typically, if a character leaves town on soaps, it’s for a while. After enough time and distance have gone by, they resurface. Only then do they stick around.
Dex being found within days may not have been the clever play. There is some doubt as to whether he has returned for good or if something will happen to the character.
That being said, fans are still rooting for Joss and Dex to have their happily ever after.
