‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers indicate that while we are thrilled to welcome back Eden McCoy as Josslyn Jacks, we want a brand-new role created for Courtney Fulk.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Courtney Fulk Was Awesome as a Temporary Josslyn Jacks
Fulk was terrific as a softer, seemingly more toned-down version of Josslyn. This opinion is not a knock on Eden McCoy, who won her first Daytime Emmy as Outstanding Younger Performer in December.
McCoy was dealing with the tragic loss of her mother, who passed in November, and understandably, she needed time off. Courtney Fulk stepped in to fill some very big, very stylish shoes.
McCoy plays the part brilliantly, but Fulk has a unique, easygoing charm about her. She did very well with the story of her troubled study buddy, Adam Wright (Joshua Benard), and the heartbreaking death of Josslyn’s grandmother, Bobbie Spencer (Jackie Zeman).
Fans knew that Fulk’s stay in Port Charles was only temporary, but we propose to the powers that Fulk returns as a new character.
The possibilities are limitless for all the characters Fulk could portray. The show could bring back Cameron Webber (William Lipton), and Fulk could be his college girlfriend.
Courtney has an appearance similar to Eden’s blond-haired, blue-eyed beauty, and Cameron may have a “type.” GH has a rich history of “play it again, Sam,” with their actors and actresses starting by playing one role and then returning to play another.
Sarah Joy Brown was the original Carly Spencer. The character wasn’t so likable when Brown played her, but Brown made it work. She also happened to have superb chemistry with her on-screen co-star, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard).
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Courtney Fulk Should Join the Show As a Brand New Character
Brown did such a good job portraying the role that GH asked her to return. She portrayed a brand-new character named Claudia Zacchara, who was the daughter of a mob boss whom Sonny married.
Brown played Claudia until Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) killed her with an ax to defend his little sister, Josslyn, from Claudia, who was trying to steal her away from Carly.
Tamara Braun, the second Carly, played Carly Corinthos until Laura Wright took over the role. Once Wright took over and made Carly her own, Tamara returned to GH to play the brand-new role of Kim Nero.
Kim’s teenage son, whom Josslyn was dating, Oscar Nero (Garren Stitt), tragically died from cancer. Kim left Port Charles when she discovered she was pregnant with mobster Julian Jerome‘s (William DeVry) baby.
Chloe Lainer impressed viewers as a young Bobbie Spencer and Luke Spencer’s (Tony Geary) sister, Pam. A few weeks later, the actress returned to play baddie Nelle Benson, who terrorized half of Port Charles with her wicked ways.
Nelle was Nina Reeves’s (Cynthia Watros) long-lost daughter. Nelle lost her battle with Carly after she fell over a cliff and was presumed dead. Although, we may not be so convinced of that!
These are three prime examples of actors who were initially slated for one role. They were so good they snagged a newly created very own role of their own. We feel that Courtney Fulk should join the club.
