‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers divulge that Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) is brainwashing Charlotte Cassadine (Scarlett Fernandez) from the grave.
He is the one who sent Charlotte the tarot cards and told her that Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) is not who Charlotte thought she was and that Charlotte needed to stop her because she would lead Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) to his death.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Charlotte Got the Tarot Cards from Victor
It makes sense that Charlotte got the tarot cards from Victor because Victor and Peter August (Wes Ramsey) used tarot cards to control others like Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) when he held him captive in a prison cell on Victor’s compound in Greece for two years.
We were first introduced to the evil brainwashing done with the tarot cards, and we saw Helena Cassadine (Constance Towers) and Cesar Faison (Anders Hove) using them to control Drew.
Years later, Peter controlled Drew with “The Tower” when he was held in Greece. It would activate Drew and get him to do whatever he wanted. Victor tried to control Drew with the “Three of Cups,” but, luckily, he failed.
Victor could be doing the same thing to Charlotte, making her do things through the power of suggestion.
In Victor’s letter, he suggested that Charlotte do whatever it was in her power to do to stop Anna. What does this mean? Did Charlotte do all those awful things to Anna?
In Charlotte’s nightmares, she dreamt that Anna would steal her “Papa” away. Is she overreacting to her Father being in a relationship with Anna, or is something more sinister being done?
It looks like Victor somehow knew how to tap into Charlotte’s fears of losing her Papa and is playing off that. That is part of it, but remember, Charlotte is a Cassadine. She has darkness coursing through her veins.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: The Cards Are Part of the Cassadine Legacy
As Valentin and Charlotte were enjoying the new house, Valentin saw the tarot cards and looked shocked. Charlotte explained that she got the cards from a friend from camp. Whether he believes her is questionable.
Charlotte most likely trashed Anna’s hotel and left a threatening message on the mirror with make-up. She may have even been the one who burned Anna’s house down. Valentin has an inkling that Charlotte is behind what happened to Anna, but he wants to believe his little girl is innocent.
Valentin is in a tough place where he wants to do right by his daughter and give her the stability she craves, but he is undoubtedly not handling things the right way. Tarot cards are nothing to mess with, and they are steeped in Cassadine history to be used for nothing but trouble.
Another plausible theory is that Victor brainwashed Charlotte when he kidnapped her to make Valentin do his bidding. He could have easily planted a trigger in her mind that he knew would set her off. This demented twist would be Victor’s most significant achievement as a Cassadine. He could get someone to get revenge on Anna and Valentin after he was gone. What if Victor programmed Charlotte to kill?
Someone needs to talk some sense into Charlotte. Valentin should take those cards and burn them before it’s too late.
