In less than 24 hours, the first episode of Tucker Carlson‘s highly anticipated 10-minute Twitter program has received more than 85 million views.
Conservatives believe that the former Fox News host’s monologue ‘broke the media matrix,’ garnering over a million views in the first hour after it was released on June 6.
However, detractors were unconvinced and labeled the speech as ‘amateurish.’ The brief video, which included a “Tucker on Twitter” logo, has received 199k retweets, 657k likes, and 81 million views to date, and counting.
Some said that a million more views had already been added by the time they had finished viewing. ‘Tucker Carlson Tonight’ on Fox News, which at the time was the most-watched cable news program, averaged 3.1 million viewers per evening in the weeks before to his shocking dismissal.

Tucker Carlson’s Twitter Show Hits Nearly 90 MILLION Views In First Day
Elon Musk, the founder of Twitter, praised the 54-year-old former TV host right away, saying that it would be wonderful to have programming covering all political viewpoints.
However, Carlson’s choice to start a program on Twitter may provide Musk with new difficulties in retaining followers and sponsors. According to media publications, the program will be disastrous for marketers.
Musk was sure to underline that he had not entered into any form of commercial agreement with Carlson when the latter revealed his ambitions in May.
Since then, Fox’s 8 o’clock hour has lost about half of its viewers, and other prime-time programs have also seen big ratings declines. Some claim that Carlson’s decision will change broadcast news in the future and allow for citizen journalism.
It will be interesting to see if Tucker can keep up these kinds of numbers and see who else decides to join the platform in this way.
Other independent journalists like Tim Pool have been utilizing Twitter forever, but could it be the landing platform for many more journalists to go independent in the future? Only time will tell.
