TLC’s hit show, Welcome to Plathville, has shown us a lot about the Plath family. Coming from a small town in Georgia, the Plaths, Kim and Barry, have raised their nine children on their farm. They have been home schooled and technology is pretty much outlawed here, although the family has a website. The family’s nine children all have their own styles and personalities, but oldest, Ethan, has now moved away and is married. The question on everyone’s minds is how he met his wife, Olivia?

The oldest son of the Plath family is Ethan. His wife Olivia has been quite a hit since she first came on the show. She is known for her very opinionated thoughts on how the Plaths have been raising their children. She feels as if they are sheltered and it is not a good way to raise children. Kim Plath has very strong feelings about what Olivia says about their parenting ways and feels that she has no right to judge her.
TLC Welcome to Plathville Spoilers: Ethan and Olivia – How Did They Meet Each Other?
Olivia is Christian, like the Plaths, but she is very different. She doesn’t share the extremely strict rules that Kim and Barry have made for their children. Olivia has sparked a lot of division between Ethan and his family and also with his sister Moriah. Olivia once felt as if she were being controlled by the Plaths too. She said that Kim is constantly criticizing everything that she does and there was a point when she judged her by the toothpaste she was using and her clothing. This isn’t the only problems that we have seen with the Plaths and Olivia on the show. Moriah spends a lot of time with Olivia and they even went on a vacation to California together. During this vacation, Olivia showed Moriah a lot, including what it’s like to be part of the LGBTQ community. That was a mindblowing experience for Moriah and you can imagine how Kim felt when she found out!
So how did Ethan and Olivia officially meet? Olivia was raised in Virginia and she is the fourth child of ten! Her family is very strict and Christian as well, much like the Plaths. She attended a summer camp for Christians with her family and that is where she first met Ethan and his family in 2014. Eventually these two fell in love and wanted to be together. Since Olivia and Ethan got married, they have traveled together, spent time with technology, and even explored parts of the world that they never thought they would. Although Kim thinks Olivia brings out the worst in her son, we can tell that she brings out the best in Ethan!
